Appleton, MN -  The upcoming Compass public affairs program airing on Pioneer Public Television on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. will highlight "Farm to Table" restaurateurs in Alexandria and Windom and examine what is driving the trend for family farmers in Minnesota.  Compass producer Laura Kay Prosser interviews Matt Jensen of La Ferme, a Chef-owned, fine dining restaurant in downtown Alexandria, MN about his restaurant's farm-to-fork practices. Also highlighted, in a secondary interview, are the efforts of Mari Harries, proprietor of the River City Eatery in Windom, and local farmer, Matt Miller to create the perfect farm-to-table dining experience right on the Miller farm, with an event billed as "Farmfeast." Pioneer's General Manager, Les Heen, hosts an in-studio discussion with Doug Peterson of the Minnesota Farmers Union and Anne Schwagerl who farms near Beardsley, about what they are seeing as more young people approach farming with a farm to table focus.
