The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre auditions are right around the corner for The Wizard of Oz!

 

For singers or actors in grades
1 - 12 nervous about the audition process, this is a great rehearsal for the big day.

Riley Archery Range
Open
Shooting Hours


The Riley Archery Range includes eight shooting lanes, providing  shooting opportunities for people of all ages. Times run August 9 through November 29.


 Times:

Saturdays, 9 am - 12 pm, and
2 - 5 pm

Sundays, 9 am - 5 pm

Tuesdays & Wednesdays,
11 am - 6 pm
(August - October)
Tuesdays & Wednesdays,
11 am - 5 pm (November)
 

Fees:

Adults - $6 per hour

Youth/Seniors - $5 per hour

*Equipment Rental
(bow and five arrows)
$5 per hour

SAFE Softball Tournament & Picnic

 

Cheer on your favorite City department team at the second annual SAFE (Suicide Awareness For Everyone) softball tournament and picnic.

 

Family activities include a bounce house, police car and fire truck tours, concessions, and Argos, the K-9 police dog.
 

Time: Opening Ceremonies begin at 9 AM, Saturday, August 8

Join the F2H Fit Challenge - it's FREE!

Each month we highlight a place, participant or program. This month, we're shining the light on:

 

 Marshmallow Fly and Fry

 

 

 

 Over 1,000 marshmallows will fall from the sky in Heritage Park! Collect the marshmallows and exchange them for goodies!

 

Families can enjoy games or bring hot dogs and marshmallows to cook over the fire. They will also be available for purchase.

N1 Nature Center 

STEM Leadership Experience

 

Students ages 13 - 17 are gaining college-level lab and field experience this summer with STEM professionals to explore how these disciplines will help solve tomorrow's environmental issues.  

 

Due to the overwhelming popularity of this program, registration is full for 2015. Please keep an eye out for 2016 information through this newsletter!

Free Summer Programs


 Enjoy a summer afternoon at the Nature Center with a story, nature hike, or fun science experiment! Activities are free and designed for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and donations are always accepted.

Farmington Elks Donate to Summer Youth Program 

The Farmington Elks chose the Special Services After School and Summer Drop-In program as the recipient of their Gratitude Grant! They presented the Youth and Family Division with a $2,000 check, which will go towards their tutoring and outdoor nature programs.

Whether it's a fieldtrip to Motown Hitsville USA and Hard Rock Café, or just having a great time outside playing volleyball, and keeping cool at the splash pad, the kids of the Summer Drop-In program are having a fun-filled time!
The young entrepreneur Youth Members ran a very successful lemonade stand with a little help from the staff. They will be celebrating their financial earnings with a pizza party and items that will go towards the
After School Youth Center.
