Adult Softball
Swing into spring with the classic game of softball. All leagues play one night per week. Open to residents and non-residents. Ages: 18+ Registration: Returning team registration begins Monday, January 12. New team registration begins Wednesday, January 21 ---------------------------------------- Gymnastics Help build your child's strength and self confidence by registering them in a gymnastics class. Taught by the Gym-Baz Company, your child will experience parallel bars, uneven bars, balance beam, vaulting horses, as well as tumbling skills and floor exercises. Classes will be at the Costick Center. Different levels include Pre School, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate. Ages: 3-18 Date: Friday, February 13 - March 27 (No class Feb 27 and Mar 20) Time: Class times vary. Daddy Daughter Butterfly Ball
Calling all dads! Do you have a daughter that likes to dress up and dance? Treat her to a night she will always remember at the Costick Center's Butterfly Ball.
Dance the night away with music from a DJ and enjoy refreshments. Professional photos will be available for purchase.

Crescendo Detroit
The Crescendo Music Program is ready to begin again and welcomes Power Upper Elementary and East Middle School students to come join this new pilot program at the Jon Grant After School Center.
This unique music group will be bringing their talents to teach and share with our youth. No experience necessary.

After School Youth Center Program
This program invites all Farmington Hills / Farmington residents in grades 5 - 8 to become members of the Youth Center Program. You can sign up at the Costick, Ice Arena, or Jon Grant Centers to have your photo ID card made.
$50 for the entire school year provides transportation from your school by Farmington Public School buses to one of the Youth Center locations. Your son/daughter must be picked up on or before 5:30 at any Youth Center.

Homeschool Nature Program
Add science and nature to your child's education. Naturalist guides will lead hands-on experiences outdoors while exploring a different nature theme each week. This is a drop-off program

Nature Pre School
These classes are designed to teach fundamentals and basic techniques while developing new skills and improving self image. All classes are held at the Heritage Park Day Camp Building.
Little Trekkers - Ages 1 - 4
Children and adults will explore a new nature theme each week. Enjoy story time and an art project to take home. Please dress for the weather. (Parents must stay.) Activity: #214548-01 / #214548-03
Nature's Little Artist - Ages 1 1/2 - 4
Explore the natural world of art with your child. A variety of painting techniques and crafts will be used to create masterpieces. (Parents must stay.) Activity: #214524-01
Boots N' Books - Ages 1 1/2 - 5
A Naturalist will connect nature with our story time and hike. Families will go on a short outdoor hike that will bring the story to life. Dress for the weather and don't forget to wear your boots!

Young Explorers - Ages 3 - 5
Children will explore a different nature theme each week, as they hike and investigate along the trails of Heritage Park. Since this is a drop-off program, please send them with a snack and water.

National Skating Month Open House
Join us at the ice arena for a fun filled day of skating, snacks and giveaways! In recognition of National Skating month, open skate and skate rental will be free for all participants.
The Farmington Hills coaching staff will also be available to help any skaters who may need assistance on the ice.

Learn to Skate - Session V
Learn to Skate classes offer the opportunity to learn on every level from your first step on the ice to advanced Free Skating.
Taught by qualified professionals, these 6-week classes meet once a week for a combined 25-minute class and a 25-minute supervised practice time.

Happy New Year! We would like to share some winter activities from our department:
January is the time to decide what you or your children should try out next! Check out the following divisions for what they offer during the winter.
1. The Recreation Division will help get you and your kids more physically fit. New sessions begin for swimming, fitness, gymnastics, dance, karate, and nature preschool.
2. Our Adults 50 & Better program can bring you peace of mind through involvement in the Meals on Wheels program or SENEX program for people with dementia.
3. The Nature Center and our parks provide the opportunity to help you relax by taking a stroll on the trails or experiencing a nature program such as Inside Out.
4. The Ice Arena has Learn to Skate classes for beginners or advanced students beginning this month.
5. Interested in some winter golf? The Farmington Hills Golf Club has their Chili Golf Open - you won't want to miss it!
6. Our Cultural Arts Division provides the opportunity to expand your creative horizons in theatre, dance, drawing, and painting classes. Auditions for Mary Poppins begins mid-January.
