SCFI Partner MAN2MAN Interviewed by
National Fatherhood Initiative

The National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) is the nation’s leading non-profit organization working to end father absence.  According to NFI, its curriculum is in use in more than 6,300 organizations worldwide.  It’s used by Frank Williams and his staff - Robert Lykes, Charles Harrison and Pastor Drone – in their MAN2MAN Fatherbood Building Program.

Frank is the Executive Director MAN2MAN, an SCFI founding partner.  He was recently interviewed by Christopher Brown, President of NFI. For a window into MAN2MAN's fatherhood workshop, this interview-blog from NFI is a must-read.
8th Annual Fame Fathers Walk

On Wednesday, September 20, an estimated 3,000 fathers and father-figures will take their children to an estimated 40 schools in Summit County for the 8th Annual Fame Fathers Walk.

The September 20 date coincides with Fathers Walk events in Cuyahoga, Portage, Stark and other surrounding Counties.  Become part of this event by volunteering at a school near you.  Volunteer to be an outdoor greeter, indoor guide, or hospitality server (if your chosen school is providing this service).  Consider speaking for 3-4 minutes at the event if you have a fatherhood message to give.  Contact school leadership to get involved.  For a partial list of participating schools, click here.  If your chosen school is not listed, email walk@famefathers.org or call 330.873.9794
Next Fatherhood Workshop in Barberton

The next Steadfast Fathers workshop series in Barberton will start on Wednesday, September 20, at Embrace Clinic & Care Center (formerly Barberton Community Pregnancy Center).  This workshop is open to all fathers and father-figures in Summit County.

The Summit County Fatherhood Initiative is a proud collaborator of Steadfast Fathers and the Embrace Clinic & Care Center.

247 Fathers, 542 Children

SCFI partners Fame Fathers, Fathers & Sons, and Man2Man have graduated a combined 247 dads from their fatherhood workshops in the 1st six months of 2017.  192 of these dads report to us that they are spending increased amounts of time with their children – 542 children in all.  This means that 542 children are now enjoying the benefits of an increasingly involved, connected and responsible dad.  Proven by 15 years of research, improved self-esteem is just one of those benefits enjoyed by children with an involved dad.  How important is that just as children return to school?
