Welcome to the monthly Fearless Conversations newsletter - information and ideas to support and inspire us to create a world in which fearless conversations are common in our workplaces, communities, families and friendships.

In this issue I just want to share simple words from a favorite teacher who is an inspiration behind Fearless Conversations.  There are no better words I want to say as we move forward in the aftermath of our elections and as we begin to immerse ourselves in the Holiday Season.

I am also announcing a class that a colleague and I are offering in collaboration with the Depth Psychology Alliance.  You or someone you know may be interested in participating.

Thank you always for reading and sharing this newsletter,
Shyrl

Turning to One Another

There is no power greater than a community discovering
what it cares about.

Ask "What's possible?" not "What's wrong?"  Keep asking.

Notice what you care about.
Assume that many others share your dreams.

Be brave enough to start a conversation that matters.
         Talk to people you know.
Talk to people you don't know.
Talk to people you never talk to.

Be intrigued by the differences you hear.
          Expect to be surprised.
          Treasure curiosity more than certainty.

Invite in everybody who cares to work on what's possible.
Acknowledge that everyone is an expert about something.
Know that creative solutions come from new connections.

Remember, you don't fear people whose story you know.
Real listening always brings people closer together.

Trust that meaningful conversations can change your world.

Rely on human goodness.  Stay together

Crack the MBTI Type Code
Many people have been exposed to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), but often know only what their four-letter Type code tells them.  I have developed an approach to help us understand more about one's "whole type".  This approach is based on the 8-function model developed by renowned Jungian analyst John Beebe.  I have been using his model for several years and recently developed a fresh approach for presenting it to which clients have responded very well.  A colleague - Dorene Mahoney - has opened up the opportunity to present a webinar class, sponsored by the Depth Psychology Alliance, featuring
my approach.  I particularly appreciate Beebe's model because it offers more information and insight about understanding ourselves and empathizing with others.  His model helps us to "crack the code" of our MBTI Types.

Obviously one does not have to be a depth psychologist to present the class or take it!  It will be a class that "laypeople" can enjoy and benefit from immensely.  We will begin with a free intro class.  The actual class will be six weeks, beginning in February.

Here is the link to register for the free intro class.  I hope you or someone you know will join us!
