Church Votes to Move Forward with CDC Expansion, City on a Hill and Cell Tower Lease
In a business meeting this past Sunday, the church unanimously agreed to all 3 proposals. Moving ahead the CDC Board will continue to work with architect Dex Sanders to finalize plans and work through the process. Roger T. Clatterbuck, Paul Bates, Jr., and Mike Oberschmidt will oversee the work. We hope work will be starting in March. The Trustees will finalize details on the cell tower lease. Dan will continue working with City on a Hill Church as they move to our facilities in April. Continue to pray for all the work that is being done.

Sunday afternoons at CBC are a time to  R estore,  E nrich,  A ffirm,  C onnect and  H eal.
  • Griefshare is a caring, friendly group of folks who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult seasons, the loss of a loved one. We have a group starting THIS Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Contact Hans for more info.
  • Financial Peace University More than 30 people went through FPU at CBC in 2017! Our next class will start Sunday, February 11 at 4:30 p.m. Skip & Lou Price will be facilitating the 9-week course designed to organize your financial life. Class is open to the community and is beneficial regardless of age, income or marital status. Click here for more information. 
  • Piedmont Community Band starts Sunday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. This community band is open to new members - come check them out.
  • The Marriage Course started in January with 10 couples! We will start another one in mid April - stay tuned.
Heat Shelter, February 11-18
Our week to provide volunteers and food for the shelter is coming up. We need female overnight volunteers and groups to provide dinner each day. If you can help, contact the church office . We will have a brief volunteer meeting THIS Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Worship Center - come join us.
2018 Concert Series Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of our Schantz Pipe Organ
We have an amazing series planned for this year. You can click here for all the details. Our first concert of the series is Sunday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. and features the American Harp Ensemble. This concert is sponsored by the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation. We will also host the Duke University Choir on Friday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. If you can help house a student on Friday night, please contact the church office.

Next Steps - Moving Beyond Preschool TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m.
Have a preschooler going to Kindergarten next year or know someone who does? Join us tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Worship Center to learn about different choices in the community--Culpeper Public Schools, Grymes Memorial, Epiphany Catholic, Culpeper Christian, and a homeschool group will present their kindergarten programs along with our own CDC Junior Kindergarten program. Contact Jeanine for more info.
Bible Study at The Culpeper
Come join us in the Assembly Room Mondays at 1:30 p.m. starting February 5. We will be looking at God’s answer to the cry of His people in Egypt. Contact Hans for more info.
Family Sunday School THIS Sunday & Chimes Group on Thursday!
Come with your whole family to Children's Sunday School in the big room upstairs. Our theme this time is "A New Start" and there will be crafts, stations, and food.

Join our Sunday School kids in missions! The Rice Bowl project is an international mission project aimed at funding a food source for those in need. Check them out at  Rice Bowl Mission Project. We will collect the bowls at our March Family Sunday and have a little fun cracking them open.

Family Chimes each Thursday, 5:15-6:00 p.m. on the third floor. We had a dozen ringers last week and would love to have many more. No musical background required! It's just fun!
Vision Board - Sunday, February 11, at 9:45 a.m.

Girls on the Run starts February 21
Girls On The Run is a 10-week program designed for girls in grades 3-5 that encourages positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Program starts February 21 and will meet 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday at the church. See Jeanine if interested in volunteering or signing up for this program.  
Stephen Ministries - interest meeting, February 18
We are teaming up with Stephen Ministries trainers to meet the specific needs of our congregation and community. Focus on Recovery
We partnered with the McShin Foundation to start a Families Anonymous group at the church. The group meets Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Worship Center.
This week we will display 3500 crosses near the courtyard. Each cross represents the life of a person in Virginia who lost their life because of addiction. Read more about this project by clicking here.
We have started a group in the church to work on ways we can help our community on a journey to recovery. We will be meeting February 15. If you would like to join us, contact Dan.
Read BIG, Read Real, Read Together -
We had a great experience reading the Bible together back in 2015. After a long wait, we received the new materials for Community Bible Experience !!! So we are starting Sunday, February 25 at 9:45 a.m. in room 317. Groups for preschool, children, parents, teens and adults. We will start with an 8 week journey through the New Testament.
