TCCMEN - TONIGHT at 7:00P
WANTED: A few good men to meet on a regular basis for fellowship, prayer, and to be challenged by God's word.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Thursday morning Men's Bible study and Men's Huddle are resuming under the name TCCMEN. We had a terrific kickoff event on January 14 and look forward to meeting twice monthly at 7:00P in Phillips Hall.

THE GAMEPLAN:
* Get out of the house for coffee and dessert
* Connect with guys that you see only for a few minutes on Sunday
* Read the Bible and hear a message about Biblical manhood

We encourage all MEN to be a part of this unique group. Please RSVP by February 9 to Ken Vona ([email protected]) or Alan Ringuette ([email protected]) or call 978-265-8112 if you have any questions.

** Winter Weather and Possible Church Cancellations**
In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made by 7P on Saturday night for Sunday morning services.  On Sunday mornings, we may cancel the 9:30 service along with LTA and Student Ministry Programming and just have an 11A Family Service (NO children's programming; children of all ages would join their families in the service).
You can learn about plans to cancel or delay services by:
  • Calling the church office (508-358-7717) where you'll hear a temporary message on the answering machine relative to cancellations or programming status
  • Checking the front page of the TCC website
  • Checking CBSBoston.com
  • Watching WBZ-TV
As always, please use your own discretion before traveling in questionable weather!

This Weekend

The Ten-Minute Lenten Invitation:
I have a confession: The ten minutes before a Sunday worship service are rarely the most worshipful minutes of my week. I'm often rushing around making sure things are ready to go for the service, meeting with folks to go through service logistics, all while trying to remember that it's not about a flawless performance or even a distraction-free service, but about tuning our hearts: re-orienting our lives towards God.

What are those minutes like for you? Perhaps, like many of us, Sundays feel as busy as the rest of the week. We rush to get to church, rush out of church to get to the next event of the day, and end up finishing the weekend more exhausted than we started.

So here's the invitation: Let's try to spend 10 minutes before our worship service resting, praying, and listening to God. Instead of rushing in at 9:30A (or 11A for you second service folks), what if we arrived at 9:20A and let God speak to us in the silence? (Children's check-in is open at 9:20A every Sunday!) I'm sure this will not be time wasted. Let's see what God does when we give him space to speak to us!

Adam Kurihara, Director of Music and Worship

Preaching this Sunday
Tom Petter will be preaching this Sunday, continuing in the new sermon series entitled "Pillars of Discipleship." Tom's sermon is entitled "Staying Humble."

Announcements

Teddy Sayonkon Heading Back to Liberia to Distribute Supplies - Help Still Needed!
The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF) is dedicated to providing school supplies, shoes, clothing, and scholarships for needy children in Liberia, an African country that has been devastated by a civil war and an Ebola outbreak.  Supplies are personally distributed by Teddy and delivered with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.  In 2016, he plans to return with barrels loaded with donated supplies and sporting goods recently received as a major contribution from Boston based New Balance.  Financial contributions help pay for shipping costs, airfare and scholarship aid to young students who would not be able to attend school without it. The Foundation is the humanitarian and evangelical outreach of Liberian native Teddy Sayonkon, partnering with Trinitarian and generous individuals.
If you wish to support Teddy's work with a monetary contribution, please make checks out directly to "The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation".  (Donations are not deductible for IRS reporting purposes at this time.)  Gifts may be put in the regular offering or dropped off at the church but MUST clearly be made to The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation. For more information, please contact Teddy directly at 978-761-5239 or [email protected].

The "Used" Alliance Stamp Ministry - Thanks and What is it?
Thanks to all of you who are saving stamps for missions!   Recently we have been asked by several people for information about the Stamp Ministry collection box located at the Missions Table in the lobby.  All cancelled stamps, including commemoratives, foreign, Christmas, love, common and even non-profit, bring in money for missions.  These stamps are sent to Shell Point Village in Ft. Meyers, FL, a ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
The money raised from the sale of these stamps is used to fund missionary work; $ 41,000 was sent to their Sunday school project in 2014 and $45,639 in 2015.  A total of about $900,000 has been raised since the inception of this ministry in 1972. To God be the glory for allowing this milestone!
Please consider saving stamps. Do not include any torn stamps, stamps on red paper, or embossed envelope stamps, and please leave a lot of paper around the stamps.  I prepare them and see that they get to Ft Meyers.

Thank you,
Les Hildreth (Contact Les Hildreth at [email protected].)

JOIN US  ON FEBRUARY 25 at 9:30A FOR THE START OF OUR NEW 7 WEEK SERIES IN THE BOOK OF PHILIPPIANS

"Finding Courageous Joy during Seasons of Difficulty"

Things don't always go the way we hope or plan. It's all too easy to wallow in discouragement when life grows difficult. The Apostle Paul, who while imprisoned penned a letter to the Philippians church, understood life's challenges and uncertainties, but encouraged his readers to live in courageous joy as they walked with Christ. This study aims to deepen your confidence in God's presence and power at work in your life and give you uncommon courage to live joyfully for Christ regardless of various hardships you may endure. Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...
Our mission:   To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed : Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help ONE  Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...
Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!
If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others between Sunday services, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!
You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea ! ( Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)
Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.
Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact Robin Spinale, our new Coffee Hour Coordinator at [email protected]!

Thanks for reading and hope to see you this weekend.
Sincerely,

Debora Wilson
