During Tuesday's City Council meeting, I handed the proposed 2017 Budget to Council after delivering this year's State of the City Address. I am very happy to report that the current State of Sea Isle City is strong and sound.
As I mentioned in my address, Sea Isle will soon form a paid emergency medical services division, due to the challenges experienced in sustaining an all-volunteer Ambulance Corps. This decision comes after a thorough study was conducted of our ambulance and rescue services. <<

During the February 14 City Council meeting, Mayor Desiderio delivered his annual State of the City Address, during which he said the City continually strives to accomplish its mission of "providing the services needed to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable community; and providing a balanced system of laws and regulations that give everyone the best opportunity to pursue private and public ventures."

MASTER PLAN RE-EXAM

Planning Board Asked City Council to Move Forward With Several Items on Master Plan
During the January 24 City Council meeting, Councilman Divney (the Planning Board's liaison) presented Council with a list of recommended items from the Master Plan Re-Examination that the Planning Board feels should be addressed now - rather than waiting for the adoption of the Master Plan after the Housing Element portion is completed. <<READ MORE>>

Polar Bear Beach Tags are good for beach entrance during the entire 2017 summer season. They can be purchased at the preseason rate of $20.00 each during regular business hours at the Tax Office on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, 233 JFK Boulevard, or at the Sea Isle City Welcome Center, 300 JFK Boulevard. You can also purchase them 24/7 from the Beach Tag Vending Machine in the lobby of City Hall (cash only). Quantities are limited so get your 2017 Polar Bear Beach Tag before they sell out!

Proceeds Benefit Bishop McHugh Regional School
A Casino Night fundraiser benefitting Bishop McHugh Regional School will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, at LaCosta Lounge, 4000 Landis Avenue in Sea Isle City. The evening will feature Las Vegas Style Casino Gambling, Raffles and a Silent Auction with great prizes. Tickets cost $40 each, which includes a buffet dinner, gaming money and entertainment. Saint Joseph Church will host a Quizzo Night on Friday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Auditorium, located on Central Avenue at 44
th Street. Tickets cost $10 each, which includes an evening filled with memory-testing questions-and-answers. Complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be provided, and childcare will be offered for children age 4-10. Tickets will be on sale during weekend masses at Saint Joseph Church or by phoning

Donations Support Theater Boosters and Boys & Girls Club
The Ocean City High School Theater Boosters will host a Clothing Drive on March 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at their school (please use the school's 6
th Avenue entrance). Donations of clothing, shoes, bedding, books, luggage and other items will be welcome. For a complete list of items being collected, please contact Colleen at

Sea Isle residents can bring their donations to Groovy Girlz on Landis Avenue from February 21 to March 3 (please phone ahead to arrange a drop-off time). This event benefits the Theater Boosters and Boys & Girls Club of America.

Free Clinic Helps Keep Dogs and Cats Healthy
The City Clerk's Office will host a Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic
for dogs and cats on Saturday, March 4, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., in the former Sea Isle City Public School Building at 4501 Park Road. Sea Isle City residents can purchase 2017 Sea Isle City Dog Licenses at the Rabies Clinic as well.
Dog Licenses are now due for all dogs living in Sea Isle City.
Dog Licenses cost $5.20 each for dogs that are spayed/neutered and $8.20 each for all other dogs. Dog Licenses can be purchased at the City Clerk's Office, located on the second floor of City Hall, 233 JFK Boulevard, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to staff the Sea Isle City Historical Museum and welcome visitors as they enter the facility. Volunteers don't have to be historians - a love for Sea Isle City is the main requirement. For more information, please phone

The members of Sea Isle City's United Methodist Church are prepared to help people in need. The church's Food Cupboard has toiletries, meats, canned goods and other non-perishable food items for anyone who is having trouble making ends meet. TRASH & RECYCLING INFO

No Curbside Trash Collection on President's Day Holiday:
Monday, February 20, is a City Holiday (President's Day) and all Curbside Trash & Recycling Collections will take place one day later than usual during the week of February 20 (Monday's collections will take place on Tuesday; Tuesday's collections will take place on Wednesday, etc.). However, the Trash & Recycling Depot (next to the Sea Isle Bridge) will be OPEN on February 20 from 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
POLAR BEAR WEEKEND REMINDER: The Trash & Recycling Depot will be OPEN everyday during Polar Bear Weekend (President's Weekend), Friday to Monday, February 17 to 20, 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. each day.
