Kiss Chapped Skin Goodbye

If cracked, dry skin plagues you every winter, simple changes could bring relief. People tend to wash their hands more frequently in the winter (we are all for healthy hand hygiene!), but it can lead to peeling, dry skin. Long, hot showers and dry air are also to blame for chapped winter skin. Read our blog for great tips on how to protect your skin during the cold winter months!

Heart Healthy Recipe

One way to be more heart smart is to incorporate fish into your diet. Two servings of salmon a week can get you to your recommended levels of omega-3's (healthy fats), which have been shown to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk for heart disease. Try this recipe for salmon from the American Heart Association:

Time For a Ticker Check

February is American Heart Month and a good time to check in with yourself and see how "heart smart" you are. Do you know the warning signs of a heart attack or stroke? They may be different for women than men. How about your personal risk for heart disease? Controllable, preventable conditions such as high blood pressure and cholesterol, smoking, a sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, and being overweight can all increase your risk for heart disease. Take the American Heart Association's Risk Assessment and then come up with a game plan for leading a more heart healthy life!
