IUGB APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

 


 

Dr. Ahmed Legrouri has been named vice president of academic affairs (VPAA) for the International University of Grand Bassam. The appointment was made by Professor Saliou Tour�, president of the International University of Grand Bassam (IUGB). Dr. Legrouri assumed his duties in January 2015.  Dr. Ahmed Legrouri holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Mohammed V University in Rabat, a Doctorate in Materials Science from the National Polytechnic Institute, Toulouse, France, and a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from Glasgow University, UK. From 1982 to 1994 he served as a professor at Marrakech University. In 1994, he moved to the newly established Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) as a professor. Four years later, he became Academic Coordinator and later Dean of the School of Science and Engineering. He also served as vice president for academic affairs. Read more

 

IUGB ATLANTA ALUMNI NETWORK HONORS IUGB/GSU GRADUATES 

 



 

The International University of Grand Bassam (IUGB) Alumni and Friends Network (AFNET) held its Second Annual Fall Semester Graduation Recognition Reception, on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Venetian Room inside the Hurt Building in downtown Atlanta. This ceremony, a tradition for the IUGB AFNET, honored graduates of the Class of 2014 for their academic achievements and for the completion of their Bachelor's Degree programs. Read more

 

IUGB FOUNDATION TO AWARD FIRST SCHOLARSHIPS IN 2015


 

Dr. Sidney E. Harris, chair of the IUGB Foundation announced that the Foundation will award its first scholarships to students at the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB) this year. This decision was taken at the November 5, 2014 meeting of the Board of Directors. The Foundation's number one priority is to raise funds to enable students in need of financial assistance to attend IUGB.

 

This action comes on the heels of a highly successful launch of the Foundation at an Inaugural Reception and Dinner held last October in Atlanta, Ga. Funds raised at this event along with the many generous contributions of individuals and corporate supporters have positioned the IUGB Foundation to begin helping students gain a college education.
