Musician Bio
Charles Finton - Trumpet
Get you know your Racine Symphony Orchestra musicians! We recently asked our musicians to share a little bit about themselves and are thrilled to share their responses with you:

How long have you performed with the RSO? In Spring, 2016 I will have played 11
years.

When did you first start playing your instrument? I started playing trumpet in the sixth grade, although I had "goofed around" with it before that.

What is your favorite piece to play? Ever, or at the moment?! Seriously, this is a tough
question for me to answer. There are some things I play over and over again that I
never get tired of. Handel's "Messiah" is one that comes to mind as well as
Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker".

What advice do you have for young musicians and those just starting to learn an
instrument? Have fun, most of all! Find a really good teacher, practice hard, but enjoy
the process, because it takes time to become a good musician. Be patient with yourself
and know that if you keep practicing the right things you will improve.
Veterans Photo Submission
Are you a veteran or do you know a veteran who would like their picture included in the movie as part of our June 2016 patriotic-themed Pops Concert? We are accepting photos of Racine-area veterans (from their service days) to include in the presentation.
Those who submitted information previously need not send additional photos.
Please email a jpeg file of your photo along with the name of the veteran(s) in it and their branch of service to bonnie@racinesymphony.org. All information must be received by February 29, 2016 to be included in the presentation.
Please Support Our Advertisers
