Home HeadQuarters' New(ish) Location

In case you didn't know, the main office of Home HeadQuarters is now located at 538 Erie Boulevard West in what is known as the historic  C.G. Meaker Building. The building, constructed in 1930, was originally planned as a cold storage warehouse along the railroad lines and spur that were located on the building's northern side.

In 2010, the building was added to the National Registry of Historical Places and i n 2014, local owners rehabbed the building to a mixed-use development with HHQ moving on the first floor in July and apartments above. The HomeOwnership Center at Home HeadQuarters is located across the street right next to the Syracuse Fire Department Credit Union on Tracy Street. If you come into the main building, make sure to say hello to Julyanne, pictured above.
Meet Jakeisha Sutton-Pressley

Jakeisha came to Syracuse and Home HeadQuarters via a circuitous route through Maryland, Delaware, Alabama, back to Delaware for grad school and finally, last year, to Syracuse when her husband got stationed in the area. Jakeisha was recently promoted to Controller for HHQ and will be working directly with the CFO on auditing and financial reporting. She's currently studying for her CPA exam, loves her Yorkies and doing Zumba and hopes to make her permanent home in Syracuse.

"I really like our mission of helping people get into a home of their own. I grew up in a place where most people didn't own homes."
Rental Next Door Loan Program

Home HeadQuarters now offers a loan program for those who aren't in the business of renting apartments, but find themselves with an opportunity to make a difference in their neighborhood. The affordable and unique purchase and rehab financing is for property owners who live in Onondaga County who wish to purchase a rental property with the goal of securing a previously vacant property or the "worst house on the block." The loan program requires minimal equity and offers a 6.99% interest rate.

Home HeadQuarters' Before and After

Some properties need a little more work than others. This property, in Syracuse's South Valley neighborhood, was acquired from the Land Bank, fully rehabbed and then sold to a new homeowner. This is just one of more than 58 properties renovated with funding made possible by the New York State Attorney Genera's office.
