Trinity Catholic High School boys and girls basketball teams won their holiday tournaments over Christmas break. This is the first time both basketball teams have won their holiday tournaments. Junior football player Isaiah Williams received the Gatorade Player of the Year award for the state of Missouri, and Junior DaJuan Young received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Model of Justice Award.

Great Rivers Greenway will begin its first phase of construction of the Maline Greenway in March 2018 in Bella Fontain County Park including a new trail underpass beneath Lewis & Clark Blvd. This trail will eventually connect the cities of Berkeley, Kinloch, Ferguson, Jennings, Moline Acres, Bellefontain Neighbors, St. Louis and unincorporated St. Louis.
