Gen 7:19  The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered. ... 8:4  In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 The water decreased steadily until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains became visible.   - NASU  (Bold emphasis added.)

What is Space?

Physical theories generally described the forces and motions that are observed and leave space to be whatever it takes to make the theory work. This ends up with space having some physical properties like material bodies. Also in modern physics space can expand, contract, warp, or curve. How does that work? How is one unit of space different from another?

Dr. Simhony takes a different approach. He first defines what space is and how it is structured. Simhony's structure of space is a crystal lattice of alternating electrons and positrons he names the EPOLA. Then he derives how everything else exists in and interacts with the space lattice, the EPOLA.

Simhony shows that interactions of atoms in a physical body with the EPOLA result in electric, magnetic, and gravitational forces. When the body moves, its interaction with the EPOLA also result in the inertia of the body. These interactions also produce effective mass changes of the body as its velocity increases toward the speed of light. Also there are quantum effects, black body radiation, and CMB.  All of this he derives from the structure of the EPOLA space lattice with straight forward algebra! That is an impressive feat.

This EPOLA may sound a bit like the old idea of ether (alt. sp. Aether) but no one was able to make that idea work. Einstein did eventually come back to like that idea in an intuitive way after his relativity theory became established. Few others followed and today ether is generally presented in textbooks as ignorant foolishness that has been completely replaced by general relativity theory and cosmology like the Big Bang.

However, Big Bang theory has run into huge problems because general relativity does not describe the observed orbital motion within galaxies or clusters of galaxies or the observed accelerating expansion of space. To try to solve the accelerating expansion problem cosmologists have hypothetically created "Dark Energy" which cannot be physically defined or detected. Increasingly sophisticated efforts have also failed to physically define or detect "Dark Matter". Regardless, these combined are thought to comprise 96% of the universe!  What we can see or observe is just 4%. Something seems badly wrong here!

The late professor Carmeli of Ben Gurion University developed a cosmology that can accurately describe the galactic orbital motions without dark matter or dark energy. He did this by changing Einstein's conception of space, although he did not go as far as Simhony.

Another problem with the Big Bang is the need for an early, split second, and radically fast expansion of space called "inflation". This is a band-aid that covers over three otherwise fatal flaws in the Big Bang theory. The problem is that inflationary expansion has never had any solid cause and effect to start, motivate, or stop it.  In the February issue Scientific American cosmologists from Harvard and Princeton say it is time to ditch the Big Bang altogether and reconsider things like the big bounce type of theory. But that approach has long been rejected because of its own problems.

So we can surmise that many of the unsolved problems in physics seem to be related to our understanding of space - or the lack of understanding. It seems that Simhony's EPOLA theory might offer a major step in the right direction.

On February 9th GHCA board member Tony Comeaux will present his talk "The Crystalline Universe - The EPoLa". Tony points out that this is a Bible-honoring theory of the universe that explains "space" and its interaction with other things with just algebra. There is no quantum weirdness needed and it blows away the Big Bang. Come hear Tony Comeaux P.E. (B.S. Nuclear Engineering) qualitatively explain Dr. M. Simhony's innovative alternative to the constituents of the universe.
