An Update From Reno
The 2017 IEEE ESW in Reno in early February was a big success, with an all-time record attendance of more than 550 visitors! It was a great opportunity for e-Hazard’s trainers and consultants to mingle with clients and friends in the industry, and the Peppermill Resort venue was outstanding.  e-Hazard Senior Partner Hugh Hoagland and Claude Maurice of Kinectrics received Honorable Mention for their paper, Arc flash measurement by physical method, effect of metal vapor on arc blast, and e-Hazard’s Zarheer Jooma presented a poster titled A Method to Measure the Application of the Incident Investigation Process for Electrical Incidents.  Next year’s ESW will be March 19-23 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lineman’s Rodeo Safety & Training Conference 
October 12, 2017

Hugh Hoagland will be a keynote speaker at the 2nd Arc Flash & Isolation Safety Conference in  Manchester, England May 10-11, 2017.  His talk is titled International Standards for Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E 2012 and Arc Flash PPE Standards from US and EU.  He will share information from his own accident investigations and his extensive arc flash testing research.

Hugh will also present on arc flash PPE at the International Lineman’s Rodeo Safety & Training Conference on October 12, 2017 at the Overland Park, Kansas Convention Center.  Organizers want to expand their commitment to promote practices that help improve the safe performance of line work by offering attendees the opportunity to hear from industry experts on safety issues and hot topics evolving in the industry. The event is free to all attendees.
