Corpus Christi School
February Cougar Chronicle
Dear Parents,
Catholic Schools Week has been an eventful week. We began the week celebrating Mass with Christ the King Parish. It was nice to see so many school families at Mass. The two Open House days were extremely successful. Prospective families received tours and unique insights from both parent and student tour guides. Senator Blumenthal and Scot Haney visited on Monday. The children learned a lot from each gentlemen about the importance of a good education and a commitment to service. We look forward to concluding the week by showing our appreciation to our many Volunteers.
The month of February always brings to my mind the Great Commandment, Love one Another. Pope Francis spoke about this during a recent World Peace Day. We are all brothers and sisters. We are all loved by God. We are all called to love one another as He loves us. Even people whose beliefs and lifestyles are fundamentally different from ours are still our brothers and sisters. We are called to love them as well. As important, we are called to take the next step and build alongside of them a society that is both truly peaceful and truly just. The joyous news from Pope Francis is that with love, all things are possible. Pope Francis focuses on loving with God's love . . . a challenge we must all undertake.
I am truly grateful to all who are assisting me in making Corpus Christi School the “BEST”!

Peace,
Mrs. Ann T. Sarpu

Breakfast is Important For Your Child
breakfast.jpg
Eating breakfast is important for everyone, especially for children and adolescents. Breakfast is an important meal not only because it breaks the overnight fast, it also replenishes glucose supplies and provides many of the essential nutrients that help to keep energy levels up throughout the day. Breakfast helps students to concentrate and perform better in the classroom. It also helps to provide the energy needed to participate in physical activities. Children who skip breakfast may lose out on getting fiber and essential vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium and zinc.

Children are more likely to eat breakfast if easy-to-prepare breakfast foods are readilyA available to them. Not enough time for breakfast in the morning? Didn’t get a chance to stop at the store? Forgot to pack the mid-morning snack? P lease take a moment to review the attached flyer which highlights Corpus Christi School’s breakfast program available for the students.
We are excited to begin our Munson’s Fundraiser to raise money for the Corpus Christ Home and School Association. Since all students will benefit from our fundraising efforts you can help us reach our goal by taking orders from relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. This will be here in perfect time for Easter gifts.
