THE CITY OF KIRKLAND
Kirkland is the prettiest little jewel on the eastside of Lake Washington. The stunning backdrop of the Olympic Mountains outlines Seattle's Emerald City across the lake and defines a sense of the Pacific Northwest. Then, pulling out of that long shot takes you out of the metropolis, pans across the water and lands in this little City on the shore. It is a quintessential small town complete with a variety of shops, art galleries, sidewalk restaurants, a downtown library, ballpark and lots of coffee shops. It's a town perfectly situated to tell a story.

Scenic footpaths meander along the waterfront taking you to the town marina and boat launch or just past there is the historic Heritage Hall that elicits memories of times past. Forty-five City parks include public beaches and woodsy trails. The 5.75 mile Cross Kirkland Corridor traverses the entire City. Walking or riding bikes on its crushed gravel trail connects a traveler to most of the City's fourteen distinctive neighborhoods, high tech businesses (including a Google Campus) and people of every ethnic and cultural background.

Kirkland is that special kind of place that is distinctive, photogenic and timeless.
