Relaxing Pose

Take time to relax.   

Spend 20 minutes a day doing something that is relaxing. Try taking a walk, stretching, reading a book, or doing yoga.

 

With just a few minutes of relaxation, you'll be able to increase your physical activity as well as productivity.

Mixed Fruits

How to peel a kiwi fruit.  Cut off � inch at both ends, insert a small spoon between the skin and flesh, and slide the spoon around the inside, just underneath the skin.  The peeled kiwi will slide right out.

 

Some fruits don't ripen after they're picked (they just get softer).  So, buy ripe peaches, nectarines, pineapples, cherries and berries.  Some fruits can continue to ripen after you get them home.  They include mangoes, papayas, avocados, bananas, apples and pears.

Spring Rejuvenation Retreat

This is not just for past and present Alter Ego Fitness clients.   Bring your BFF, your mother, your daughter, your colleagues, or just book yourself for this luxurious and invigorating retreat! 

 Oceanwood Resort Hot Tub

We have secured the deluxe, luxury rooms at the Oceanwood Resort (a small, but certainly not lacking in the "pamper you" department, resort) on Mayne Island.  All suites, but one, have a view of the ocean and some even have large soaker tubs and fireplaces!  Also included are an outdoor hot tub, (pictured above) as well as a games room with a pool table and a very intimate restaurant.  Check it out online at www.oceanwood.com to pick out your preferred room.

 

It's a short ferry ride from Swartz Bay to Mayne Island and then less than a 5 minute drive to the resort where you will be warmly welcomed by your hosts Colleen (chef extraordinaire) and Scott, co-owners of the Resort, as well as Corissa and I, your fabulously keen trainers! 

 

For the "rejuvenation" portion of your retreat, you will have the opportunity to join Corissa and I on both Friday and Saturday morning at 10:00 AM for a 90 minute Alter Ego workout at Dinner Bay Park (right across the street from the resort).  Both afternoons we'll also host a one hour run or hike at 2:30 PM.  As well, you will have the opportunity to book a personal appointment with me, or both Corissa and I, to help you with your own fitness regime or to get some individual nutritional guidance to help you in your long term goals.

 

Fine Dining - SalmonColleen, as I already mentioned, is one of the best culinary chefs that I have encountered!  Your meals are given the utmost attention to detail and taste as she chooses only the "freshest of the fresh" ingredients.  The taste and presentation is comparable to the top restaurants here in Victoria.  You will not be disappointed!

 

I realize that some of us cannot possibly enjoy a good meal without a glass of wine.  For those folks, they have a well stocked bar, with many varieties of wine and cocktails.  But, please remember that alcoholic beverages and desserts are not included in your package price.  However, you will have the opportunity to indulge if you wish - after all it is your retreat!

 

PACKAGE INFORMATION 

Your retreat package includes:

  • Accommodations, with the option of a 3-night stay (arriving Thursday afternoon, March 31st) or a 2-night stay (arriving Friday afternoon);
  • ALL meals (excluding drinks and desserts)!  You will get a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, as well as a full breakfast/brunch on Sunday before you leave;
  • ALL taxes and gratuities, for the included accommodations and meals;
  • A 90-minute workout on each of Friday and Saturday morning;
  • A 1-hour hike and/or run on each of Friday and Saturday afternoon; and,
  • For those choosing the 3-night option, a "Meet and Greet" social event on Thursday evening.

PRICING (per person) 

Varies, dependent upon the room you choose, as follows:

 

Single Occupancy:

  • Two night stay - $542.50 - $676.90
  • Three night stay - $657.30 - $858.90

Double Occupancy:

  • Two night stay - $469.70 - $536.90
  • Three night stay - $578.90 - 685.30

Pay in full by February 28th and you save $50!

 

We are keeping this retreat to a maximum of 16 women.  So, please contact the office ASAP to reserve the room of your choice and pay your non-refundable deposit of � the cost.

 

PAYMENT

Final payment is due no later than March 18th.

 

ALL reservations for this retreat MUST be made through Alter Ego Fitness.  Visa, MasterCard or cash accepted.

 

MassageEXTRAS also available.  Some extras that are also available, either at the resort (in your room) or at a local studio a short drive from the resort, but which are not included in the package price for the retreat, are:

  • Manicures;
  • Pedicures;
  • Massages; and,
  • Yoga classes

If you are interested in any of these, please let us know at the time of booking and we will assist with arranging your appointment.  However, it is your responsibility to pay the provider of the service.

 

I look forward to spending a whole weekend with everyone.  This is guaranteed to get you started or get you back on track.  If you've missed me and the workouts, but just couldn't make the commitment to a Training Session, this is just one weekend!  You can do it!  And, for those of you who just want or need that small getaway to be able to rest and connect with other like minded women - this is for you too!  Participation in the exercise activities is NOT mandatory!
