It's time for the third knitting games, the Ravellenics 2014! This occurs every two years and coincides with the Olympic games.  This is an opportunity to challenge yourself, have a little fun, and complete a project in 17 days.  What will be a challenge for you?  Will it be a new technique?  An entire dress or afghan?  You get to decide!  See the sidebar on the left for all of the categories that you can compete in.  Only one rule: you can't cast on until Feb 7, and your project must be completed by Feb 23 in order to earn a virtual medal.
If you would like to join our team, please post here!  When you create a project page, please tag your projects with TFU2014, ravellenic2014, and then your event tag (ie eventwip). The official 2014 tag tool says it should be ready soon.
February is Women's Heart Health month.  Why not combine the Olympics with social awareness and pick a project from KnitRed?The Heart Motif Mitts are super cute, and coordinate with the Greenmarket Tote

Sample knits, and the book, are in store now.  Even better- a portion of the book sales is donated to promote women's heart health awareness.

Finally, we would like to remind you to renew (or begin) your memberships!  We have two levels, Merino and Alpaca.  Merino level memberships cost $50 annually, and will get you 5% off your orders all year long, along with 4 coupons throughout the year.  Alpaca level memberships cost $100 annually, and will get you 10% off your orders all year long, 4 coupons, permission to borrow any books from our pattern library, and 1 yarn emergency per year.  Stop in today to get yours!
