Update: Support Groups

We want to make you aware of changes to the LFA support group in Fort Wayne. The support group will now meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:00 PM at Come2Go Ministries, 323 W. Baker St., Fort Wayne 46802. We also have a new facilitator joining the group. Beverly Irvin previously led an LFA support group in North Carolina and we're happy to have her joining our Chapter in providing support to lupus patients and their families. Beverly can be contacted at birvin2004@yahoo.com. Laura Larry will continue to co-facilitate the group with Beverly.

We are happy to offer 14 support groups throughout the state. Lupus support groups provide an opportunity to spend time with others impacted by the disease. Sharing experiences, methods of coping and insights into living with lupus helps members develop coping strategies to reduce the stress that often accompanies living with a chronic illness.  We hope you'll attend a support group meeting soon. Click here to see all Indiana locations and details about each group.
Ask the Experts: Exercise and Lupus

"Ask the Experts" is a series of educational talks and presentations on a variety of topics designed to provide you with important information about living with lupus. This month, Dr. Hazel L. Breland, PhD, OTR/L, answered 15 questions about exercise and lupus.

If you missed Dr. Breland's presentation last month, you can listen to it in its entirety using the link below.

Jessica and Jen: A Friendship Strengthened by Disease

When Jessica Molon was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, she found inspiration in her friend and former roommate, Jen Strom, who has been living with lupus for more than four years. Instead of asking for gifts for her birthday last year, Jessica set up a Lupus Foundation of America Page of Hope so her loved ones could honor the friend who has stuck by her. This is their story. LEARN MORE
