Winter Sip & Stroll

The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance is proud to announce the return of the Winter Sip & Stroll on Saturday, February 11 from 1pm - 5pm.   The popular tasting event takes patrons on a tour along Gig Harbor's beautiful waterfront sampling Northwest wines, brews, spirits and tasty small bites at businesses serving as "Stroll Stops."

Travel + Tourism

Last year Harbor WildWatch was gifted a grant by the Ben B. Cheney Foundation of $25,000. On March 2nd, 2017 the Skansie Information and Interpretive center will reopen with new educational displays purchased with the grant money. These exhibits will be open year round and include an underwater touch tank, a virtual, interactive sandbox to learn about watersheds, and a live underwater video feed.
Roses and Rosedale Walking Tour

Greater Gig Harbor Foundation EnviroCorps invites you to join them for a historical walking tour of Sehmel Homestead Park on February 11th. This free one hour tour will explore the parks history as well as plants along the way.
Altrusa empty bowls
Empty Bowls

Altrusa International is partnering again with local businesses for Empty Bowls on Saturday, February 18th. Purchase a hand-crafted bowl, choose a soup, and enjoy your meal while 100% of the proceeds go to feed hungry kids in the Peninsula School District next summer.

In celebration of 10 years, the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation produced their very own limited edition Gig Harbor-Opoly game! The game can be found online, in stores and local businesses, schools, and at various events. 100% of the proceeds go back into the community.

Paradise presents Wait Until Dark

A sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife.

Third Thursday at the Museum

The Harbor History Museum can think of no better ensemble to start our 2017 quarterly Third Thursday concerts than with the Rimsky-Korsakov String Quartet! Founded in 1939, the Rimsky Korsakov String Quartet is a celebration of the rich history of classical music in Russia. Stephanie Porter Quartet at Morso

Seattle native Stephanie Porter, known for her clear, sultry tone and bright and appealing stage presence, and a longtime figure in the Northwest jazz scene, will be performing at Morso on February 18th. In addition to the Northwest, she has performed in venues across the country, as well as Canada, France and England. Tickets can be purchased by phone.

Music at the BoatShop

Artist Ray Troll will give a presentation before Ray and his band, the Ratfish Wranglers, start playing. A fun and uniquely Alaskan show, complete with a "sockeyedelic" light show and a limbo bar set at nine inches! Tickets include the talk, the concert, and complimentary appetizers. Outside food is welcome. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Call, stop by, or order tickets online.

Dragon boats
PenMet Dragon Boat Training

Come enjoy a recreational paddle, or train to participate in races. Practices are run by trained and certified steerspersons. Life jacket and paddle is provided. Wear athletic clothing. Expect to get wet. Expect to have fun. Expect to meet great friends. Expect a good workout. Winter training times are:
Tuesdays - 6:30-7:30 am, Thursdays - 5:30-6:30 pm,
Saturdays - 8-9:30 am rigorous training. Free try out session offered. 
Harbor Institute

Tacoma Community College Gig Harbor Campus presents Harbor Institute, a non-credit program for adults who want the fun and challenge of a college class without the papers, tests, and grades. With affordable prices, Harbor Institute makes it easy to learn local history, immerse yourself in art, or keep up on some of the most exciting and important trends unfolding in the work at large.

Harbor History Museum always has something for everyone. Youth, family, and adult programming, lobby exhibits, as well as permanent and temporary exhibits, or join the Gig Harbor Literary Society, a group dedicated to exploring the literary world of historical fiction, nonfiction, and other works of interest in our community.
