Patty Gray
is a renowned glass artist and one of the most respected teachers in the world.  She has been involved in the hot glass arts since the earliest days of the studio glass movement.  Her artistic focus has been on fused and cast glass artwork of all scales, including architectural installations in major hotels and public buildings. She has also built an extraordinary record as an instructor in the kiln arts, and seems to be everywhere at once, carrying the torch of kiln-working and glass blowing to students at workshops around the world.

When you take a Patty Gray class, you're going to learn skills to help you
develop and express your artistic style.  You'll learn several different
techniques to create pattern bars and other unique elements to make your
glass art stand apart; you'll comb molten glass; you'll also use
molds and auxiliary glass in new ways.
Patty's class is going to help you break out of the typical kiln-formed
mold by learning skills that can make you one of those people who inspire.
From the intermediate class, you'll create several styles of unique glass
components that will be used in the advanced class.

Wine Bottle Cheese Board

Recycled Wine Bottle Cheese Tray

with Joyce Sullivan

$30 includes supplies (on sale for $17)

**No Previous Experience Necessary**

BYOB for Wine Bottle Class

This is an ultimate recycling project!  Talented instructors lead this fun workshop as you learn how to transform empty wine bottles into decorative hors d'oeuvre or cheese trays.

Each participant needs to bring one regular (not sentimental value) wine bottle.  It must clean and dry, inside and outside and have the label and glue removed.

We will demo and explain how to flatten wine bottles in the kiln. Since it takes 19 hours to squish a wine bottle, we'll exchange your bottle with a similar bottle that is already flat.

To remove the label, soak your bottle for thirty minutes in very hot, soapy water. If the label doesn't slip right off, you can use a razor blade scraper to remove it. If the adhesive doesn't come off easily, you can use Goo Gone to get it off.

After you've learned the technique, you can bring more wine bottles to Harmony for squishing.  Kiln fees are as low as $12 for one bottle up to $60 for ten bottles.
