ANNUAL FUND UPDATE

Co-chaired by Lisa Brown P’15, ’17, ’19 English Department Head/Upper School English and Lesley Colognesi P'21 Director of Academic Support Services/College Counselor, the Annual Fund faculty and staff campaign is taking record shape. In just one week, 95% of faculty and staff participated, with the goal of reaching 100% participation.

PA ASSEMBLY RECAP: JANUARY 27
Over 50 parents came together for the Parent Association Assembly: How Does Beaver Teach Leadership, Civic Engagement, and Social Justice? Parents heard from Hiatt Center Director Liz Skinner, Upper School Director Kader Adjout, and faculty members about how leadership, civic engagement and social justice are woven into our curriculum. The Beaver Gives Back Club also hosted a Cyber Skills Clinic to educate parents about social media channels. Read more.
MEET THE WINTER 2017 CEO'S
The winter entrepreneurship elective is in full swing! From idea spotting to the business plan and marketing strategy to the pitch, students in Beaver’s entrepreneurship elective are learning the different facets of being an entrepreneur. Led by a student CEO, their ideas will be pitched to a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs on Wednesday, March 1. Read about the CEO's, their team, and their ideas here.
STUDENTS FROM CHINA VISIT BVR
Beaver hosted 30 visiting students from China last week. Students, who were in Boston to attend the Harvard Model UN conference, spent the day shadowing Beaver MUN members and Chinese-language students – attending classes, participating in the day’s activities, and celebrating the Lunar New Year. They both shared their high schools experiences with one another and talked about their hopes for the future. Save the Date! Grandparents and Friends Day is Friday, April 21 from 9:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. An email will be sent soon to provide or confirm the names of grandparents or grand “friends” that you would like to be invited.
