From the Library Administrator

The Library Open House on January 31, celebrating the end of our recent renovation, was well attended with over 500 patrons and community members taking part.

Visitors toured the library building, discovering the many improvements that have been made. Families flocked to the second floor's Children's Library and delighted in the new early literacy and discovery activities. Staff enjoyed discussing services and the library's new spaces, as well as sharing a peek at the behind the scenes work that ensures patrons access to the many thousands of books, DVDs and resources that are purchased, shelved, checked out and returned each year.

Our focus now turns to a continuation of the excellent service our patrons expect. We appreciate the patience everyone has shown as the building underwent a transformation that allows us to serve the community well, now and in the future.

Art Gallery Showing
Featured Artist: Chuck Morris
Garden Bench
The exhibit Habitat Midwest - Photos From Home by fine art photographer Chuck Morris will be on display throughout February in the Woodridge Public Library's Art Gallery, located in the lobby.

Chuck has been photographing and printing landscapes and street scenes for many years. Within the last few years he has dedicated his time exclusively to digital works, "The addition of color and the instant appraisal of a shot aids my landscape work tremendously, as does the power and utility of digital processing software." The landscapes featured in the exhibit were all photographed within a few miles of Downers Grove, many at the Morton Arboretum.

Members of the community are invited to enjoy and experience these photographic works of art and make their own aesthetic judgements, as the artist suggests "...these days I prefer to let the work speak to the viewer for itself."

The Art Gallery is open during the library's normal hours of operation.
Around the Library
Barbershop Quartet
Fermata D'Aria performs to a full audience at the Library Open House February 31.
