Keep Your Devices Safe!

Here are some tips for keeping your iOS devices and Mac safe.

  • Don't click on any pop-ups in a web browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.) that may indicate there is a problem with your computer.  It is certain to be a scam.
  • Do not let anyone you don't know take control of your computer remotely.
  • At a minimum, set up touch ID and a simple password of 4 digits on your iPhone (in Settings - Touch ID & Passcode). There may be sensitive data such as passwords, credit card information and logins that would be exposed should you lose your phone. There are also stronger password options that extend beyond 4 digits in Settings.
  • Enable iPhone backups and Find My iPhone (in Settings - iCloud) and use Time Machine to back up your Mac.  This will ensure that should you lose/damage your device or computer, you will always have a backup.

Just a reminder that you can stop by MACnician for a hardware diagnosis or estimate at no charge.  .
