Dear Families,

This summer, the Beaver Middle School is kicking off the Feed Your Brain Challenge .

With a focus on reading, we are going to give our brains the continued strengthening and conditioning they need to build off all the great work from the school year.

THE CHALLENGE
We are encouraging members of the Beaver community to commit to daily consumption of content. In other words, do something every day!

And then find a way to make Feed Your Brain your own. You may decide to track your consumption to see how much you consume total throughout the summer. You may also want to set up a challenge with a friend or group of friends. Families may want to create a way to log together to be a Feed Your Brain team.

THE STRATEGIES
Feed Your Brain is an opportunity to expand on YOUR interests.

Use time throughout the summer to learn more about things you like to do, experiences you have had, people who inspire you, and subjects you have always been curious about. Summer is your chance to engage in areas you like. Feed Your Brain also provides the chance to identify titles and topics new to you. Discover something unfamiliar, take a journey in areas unexplored, give something new a try.

COMING THIS FALL
This September, a committee of students will partner with the Hiatt Center to think of ways to pay this experience forward and transform the Feed Your Brain initiative into a civic engagement opportunity. Stay tuned!

I hope our entire community can find ways to incorporate Feed Your Brain into their summer, and I look forward to learning about all the interesting versions of Feed Your Brain 2018.

Have a great summer – and bon appetit!
