NEWLY PHOTOGRAPHED

~ MEDITATION ROOM, BRIARCLIFF MANOR
Lets face it, we all lead hectic, over-scheduled lives. So when my client mentioned she was getting her PHD in the Healing Arts and wanted to run meditation groups in Briarcliff Manor, I thought it was a great idea! We got started transforming her bright yellow family bonus room into a tranquil, calm, peaceful place with a cool color palette. Her favorite color is teal green which became our starting point for the chair fabrics. We brought that color into the wood trim around the windows surrounding it with decorative painted walls in an oyster color.

The second floor windows have beautiful views of the rambling green property. With simple flat roman blinds, we made sure to keep the beauty of nature in view which tied in nicely to the existing exposed beams and bright cupola in the ceiling. Built in window seats allowed for a special closeness to nature.

This space also doubles as a meeting room with its built in cabinetry for a beverage refrigerator and coffee station, and a custom zinc table for serving as well as working.

~ MANHATTAN PIED-A-TERRE
We created the perfect NYC getaway for a couple who loves to go to the Theatre and fine restaurants in NYC. However, the commute back to their CT home late at night was too much. We chose a sophisticated monochromatic pallet of soft grays and tans for this decor. The beautiful upholstered headboard with neutral bedding is beautiful to look at, even when sitting in the Living Room relaxing. The large windows with views of the city make this the perfect city respite! VIEW ALL PHOTOS

~ BRONXVILLE KITCHEN RENOVATION
Family entertaining is an important part of this client's life and the existing kitchen was just too crowded for her large group to gather for family functions. The most obvious solution was removing the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. What a difference that made! It unified both rooms and gave the area a light and airy feeling.

Her favorite color is green and natural earth tones, which became our color palette. It fit perfectly with her tudor style home. We chose glass tiles which included these elements and tiled all the way up to the ceiling behind her new exhaust hood that replaced the previous microwave vent out. So much nicer! Coupled with ceiling height cabinetry, it made the ceilings feel much higher than 8 feet.

Our favorite detail was the glass shelves in the corner cabinetry. When lit up at night, it gave a beautiful glow to both the rooms. VIEW ALL PHOTOS

Going Social @the US Open

It may have looked liked me and my co-tennis-obsessed Designer friend Jana aka Trim Queen were playing hooky at the US Open this week. Well we kind of were! But what we also did, was have some fun using new Social Media tools to report on our findings and experiences around the US Open village...

Hiking Teatown Preserve

Hiking around Teatown Lake, or on one of its many wooded trails, is a special experience at any time of year. Located in the Lower Hudson Valley of NY, this 1,000 acre nature preserve and education center teaches ecology and responsibility to nature, even at a very young age. During the summer hundreds of kids of all ages attend camp here, learning all about plants, animals and why we should take special care of our natural surroundings...
