Spring is in the air! There may be snow on the ground, but rest assured the warm breezes of April will renew life in central Kentucky
. The daffodils
may have a dusting of white, but those bright colors of the first flowers are about to burst on our horizon. These are the days to enjoy the smell of damp earth, joyful calves taking their first steps, laser etched silhouettes of trees at sunset. It's Spring!

Whitney's Uno Dos Tres Cowl. We will use three different colors and size 8

How cute is this little lamb pin? This adorable adornment can be crocheted in the blink of an eye. Join Jessica on April 14 at noon to whip up a great Spring accessory. Class fee of $25 includes materials; bring size F and G hooks.
The need for knitted or crocheted knockers remains strong. We urge all of you to try your hand at knockers. The first and third Tuesday afternoons are always good times to find other knocker knitters sitting around our big table. If you need help getting started on your first pair,
just let us know. The methods of choice are DPNs, magic loop, or crochet. This is not for the beginner knitter, but an experienced knitter will have no problem learning the techniques. Size 4 or 5 knitting needles are used, or size F or G crochet hook. You pay $10 for the yarn to make your first 3 or 4 knockers, and after that the yarn is provided for you thanks to a grant received from Baptist Hospital. April 3rd & 17th, 3 to 5 pm.
Knit-on edgings can add a striking detail to your work. Worked perpendicularly from the main piece, a knit on edging is joined as you go, no pesky sewing on later. The Lace & Creme cowl is one example of how this technique can change something from ho-hum to holy wow! Joan will lead this skill-building class on
Friday, April 20 from 2:00 -
4:00 pm. Bring with you a piece of stockinette fabric, at least 4" x 4", still on the needles, and approximately 1 ounce of the yarn from which your swatch is made. Class fee is $20.
What a cut up! Are you ready to cut your knitting? Learn the elements of steeks with Joan on Thursdays in April. First we will do a little bit of Fair Isle knitting in the round, creating a beautiful geometric design through colorwork. Then we'll cut it apart! Steeks are the way to simplify colorwork and still create a flat piece. Our project will be a cup cozy. We'll do the knitting from 2 - 4 p.m on Thursdays, April 5 and 12, then do the steeking on April 19. Class fee of $40 includes yarn. Bring size 6 or 7 needles, either DPN or 24" (or larger) circular.
Let's spin a yarn or two - join us on April 14 from 2 - 5 p.m.

Jessica offers individual spinning lessons, wheel or spindle - or both - prior to the festivities, just call for an appointment. And, when Jessica is in the house, Jessica's Creations are 20% off!
