June 2016

Hours of Operation:
10 am to 5 pm, Mondays and Tuesdays,
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Closed Sundays and Wednesdays.

Summer is upon us! Gardens are blooming and farmers markets are full of delicious fresh produce! I love this time of year. Don't know about you, but I knit all through the summer. Socks, market totes, breezy cover ups work up fast and keep my fingers nimble. Especially in the early morning I like to sit in the porch swing, listen to the birds and do some stitching.  Its also nice to unwind at the end of the day with a little project while I contemplate the next day's agenda. There is always time for knit and crochet!

Crochet or Knit Knockers - Knitted Knockers are special hand made breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and
can't be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast.

Knitted Knockers Kickoff Party.  Thursday, June 2nd at 3:00pm.  At the suggestion of Patty B. Fiber Frenzy has joined with Knittedknockers.org to sponsor handmade prostheses for women who have had mastectomy.  Special patterns have been developed for both knit and crochet, to create soft, comfortable "knockers". Join us to learn how to make the knitted knockers and learn how you can help women throughout Kentucky with this project. Supplies are available at a discount, thanks to our sponsor, Cascade Yarns.

Knit Knockers Class, Saturday, June 4th, 11 am.

Crochet Knockers Class, Saturday, June 11th, 11 am.

These 2 classes are free with purchase of yarn.
