The warm colors of autumn leaves are finally covering the hills of Eastern Kentucky.  You'll find those colors - and so many more - on our shelves, too.  Whether you prefer the earthy tones of sienna and amber or deep reds and purples, you'll find something to love in the new yarns we've just received.  New blends are coming in also.  Check out the blends featuring camel, cashmere, yak and llama, as well as the ultra fine merinos. A touch of luxury fiber will make that one-skein project extra special, and at a great price.

On  Saturday, November 4th join Judy at 2 pm. to make a quick, easy Christmas present.  A cotton, hanging dish towel is easy and quick to knit. Makes a great hostess gift or knit up a couple for your Lunch Bunch friends.  $25 covers yarn, pattern, and instructions.  Worsted weight yarn and size 7 needles for the quickest project, or opt for DK weight yarn and use size 4  or 5 needles.

Tuesday, November 14th begin a  simple garter stitch triangle cowl
with Judy.  This scarf is worked flat and seamed together into a cowl, with a drop-stitch fringe.  Use worsted weight yarn and size 9 needles.  This will be a quick and easy project that will look great when you wear it and garner lots of compliments.  Make several for Christmas gifts.  Class is free with yarn purchase.

The sudden blast of cold air had me reaching for the mitts! I love the ease of fingerless mitts, making texting easier, but it's nice to keep those fingers warm, too!  Here's a great project that gives you the best of both worlds. These mitts have a flip-top to keep those digits warm when not busy.  Cast on "Women's Open Palm Mitts No. 624" any time in November!  Pick a striping worsted like Classic Elite Liberty Wool, or use a nice solid from Cascade or Ella Rae - good wool yarns that feel great and are durable for outside wear.

Are you into the gradients?  There are so many fantas tic patterns that show off the beautiful transitions from one tone to the next, and we have plenty from which to choose.  Katia Paints is a one-cake shawl in worsted weight. Rainbow Beach is a fantastic sport weight gradient.   Infinity is the same concept in fingering weight.  Or create your own with mini-skeins.  Pair a gradient with a sol id for "Olilia" or "On the Spice Market" or maybe even "First Point of Libra".

Cast on a sock project with Joan on Thursdays in November.
Whether you prefer toe up or cuff down,
she'll walk you through the steps to create a sock that fits perfectly.
Socks are a fantastic gift that can easily be completed in time for Christmas.
