Golden Acorn PTSA Awards
Awards presented at the June 8th PTSA Meeting

Congratulations to our very own Jill Hansen, Mike Hansen and Diane Taylor, the 2017 PTSA Golden Acorn Volunteer Award Winners.

Jill and Mike Hansen have been Ballard Performing Arts Boosters since 2004 , Mr. James' first year at BHS! Back then, Mr. James taught both band and orchestra. When their son graduated, they stayed on. In 2013, their daughter entered BHS and will graduate on Monday. They have supported BPA continuously for 13 years including handling uniforms, collecting forms for field trips, serving as Treasurer for the Boosters, running bake sales, and set-up and take-down for events at the school and off-site. They have chaperoned everything from Band Camp to field trips to Spree. The Hansen's commitment to Ballard High has been extraordinary and it is impossible to convey just how much their support has meant to Ballard High.

Diane Taylor was the BPA Newsletter Editor last year. This year, she proofread the BPA Newsletter nearly every week and kept the BPA Calendar up to date. And these was just her hobbies! She spent countless hours every day in the office acting as volunteer webmaster for the school website. No event, no detail was too small for her eagle eye. She ensured that everyone in the BHS Family had access to accurate information quickly and easily. The Class of 2017 is especially appreciative of her detailed Senior Page!  Diane's skill did not go unnoticed by SPS and she is finally going to get paid to help the district reach Ballard High School website standards. Thank you Diane for your dedication to BPA and BHS!
