Thursday, January 25th | 5:00-8:00pm
Please come join us for our first bi-weekly themed Thursday night buffet. We have chosen a Filipino fare for next week to honor our Filipino interns who have been such a key part in the recent success at the Clubhouse. Most of you know Mike (who will be leaving us all to soon), Camille, and Rachael. What you may not know is that in the last year we have had Ralph, Geno, Jenina, Jovan, Glenn, Charmaine, and Brylle as part of the hard-working team that prepares the delicious food here at the Clubhouse. After learning so much about our American culture in the last year and developing their professional talents, they are all very excited to give you a taste of their home country. In the Philippines food is love, so we invite you to come out Thursday night and share the love that our interns have for River Landing.
MENU:
LUMPIA
A spring roll of Chinese origin commonly found in Indonesia and the Philippines, this savory snack is made of a thin crepe pastry that envelops a mixture of chopped vegetables and meat.

CHICKEN ADOBO
This classic, easy Filipino chicken dish slow cooks and simmers in a flavorful mixture of vinegar and soy sauce. Traditionally it is served with white rice.

Nilagang Baka
A really delicious Filipino soup that has a flavorful blend of meat and vegetables. Bonus: it's good for you!

Brazo de Mercedes
In the Philippines it's called "pianono" and has been adapted into several variations which use native flavors such as ube and macapuno. Composed of a soft meringue body and a custard core, this treat will feel like a sweet "hug" to your mouth.
PANCIT
This dish comes from a long history of noodles in the Filipino culture. The name is derived from the phrase "Hookien pian i sit" which means "convenient food". These are standard fare in most Filipino restaurants and homes.

LECHÓN
Lechón is a pork dish served in several regions of the world, most specifically Spain and its former colonies--including the Phillipines which were named after King Filipe II upon their discovery in 1543. The word Lechón itself refers to a roasted, suckling pig and the dish is commonly prepared throughout the year for any special occasion, including festivals and holidays.
