The film, Noitada de Samba, Foco de Resistencia showcases the influence and role of the Samba at Teatro Opiniao (Opinion Theater) during the resistance. Teatro Opinio (Opinion Theater) featured talents such as Cartola, Paulinho da Viola, Ismael Siva, Riacho, Martinho da Vila, Clara Nunes, Alcione, Leci Brando, Batatinha, D, Ivone Lara, Clementina De Jesus, Lupicinio Rodrigues, Adoniram Barbosa and many more luminaries of the Brazilian Popular Music - the MPB. Audience members included Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis Jr., Maria Bethania, Arnaldo Jabor, Mercedes Sosa, Zuenir Ventura, Millor Fernandes, Elizeth Cardoso and many more.

Director Cly Leal delivers a pure and sincere story that highlights life in Brazil during the dictatorship through the lens of the Samba.

Noitadas de Samba, Foco de Resistencia is a gift to us all, no matter our nationality, gender, or creed. The Samba is an art for the world and Teatro Opinio was its safe haven.
