The role of film in the digital age has revolutionized the way we generate and heighten awareness of socially relevant issues.

Filmmakers, philanthropists, activists and nonprofit organizations are producing various types of "movies with a mission" in an effort to educate a global audience.

If you have ever considered creating or supporting a film which can tell a story that will make a positive difference in the world, FilmMatters will light your path.

This year's topic is the Global Clean Water Crisis - a present concern from Texas to Tanzania.
