Dear ,

We have a great opportunity for any cycling enthusiasts out there - 7 days, 471 miles, and one unforgettable experience.  **THERE ARE STILL A FEW SPOTS AVAILABLE!  We are trying to get our team solidified by Friday, June 1st.**

What is RAGBRAI?

RAGBRAI, The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state.  Heading into its 40th year, RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world.  Des Moines Register Media has been the title sponsor of RAGBRAI since 1973.  Adaptive Sports Iowa will be hosting a team from Challenge Aspen to make a team of more than 50 riders and volunteers.  RAGBRAI is an incredible opportunity to experience midwest culture, meet cyclists from around the world and experience a journey like no other.  More information on the ride is available at www.ragbrai.com.

When is RAGBRAI?
The ride takes place July 22-28th with travel dates of July 21st and 29th.  We are required to be in Des Moines no later than noon on July 21st.

What does it cost?
Registration fee for RAGBRAI is $350 paid to Challenge Aspen.  Participants are responsible for air/ground transportation (including equipment) to and from Des Moines on July 21st and 29th.  Riders are responsible for their own food costs during the ride (approx. $30/day) in addition to any entertainment, shopping, or incidentals.  Participants are also responsible for lodging on Saturday, July 28th if they choose to stay in Des Moines.

What is included in the entry fees?
The cost includes transportation from Des Moines to Sioux Center on July 21st and from Clinton to Des Moines on July 28th.  Also included are RAGBRAI wristbands, route marking signage, baggage transportation, indoor accommodations with air-conditioning, SAG wagon (a support vehicle for cyclists) services, emergency medical services, traffic control, souvenir patch, daily route maps, and entries into drawing for free prizes for riders and other prizes for support vehicle drivers.  Volunteers will pack, transport, and set up luggage, gear, and/or wheelchairs at each of the hosting towns.

Who are we looking for?
Challenge Aspen is taking a team of 15 athletes (10 participants, five staff/volunteers.)  We will join the Adaptive Sports Iowa team for a total of over 50 members.  We are looking for participants of all abilities that will be able to train and complete seven days of riding for a total of 471.1 miles.  Five of our Challenge Aspen participants will be with our CAMO program for wounded military.

How do I get more information or sign up?
