A farewell and thank you from this year's team:
We close the year with expressions of gratitude to the many parents and school staff who helped the PTA reach its top goals for the 2011-2012 school year - to be a re-built, well- organized and financially stable parent-teacher organization. Looking back on the school year, we can proudly say that the PTA met regularly, created new fundraising capacities, provided amenities for teachers, parents and visitors at a variety of events, and ended the year with a much improved financial base.
Earlier this month, we organized school-wide elections to fill the four parent representative slots on the Local School Advisory Team (the "LSAT"). Pursuant to our bylaws, we also held elections for parents to serve as members of the PTA executive board. We proudly share the names and email addresses of the generous parents who were elected to serve our school community beginning July 1.

To Ms. Wilson and Officer Perkins, we are grateful for your steady helping hands with innumerable projects, large and small. To Karen Bates and Brian Cohen, thanks for the great works you have done to bring the PTA newsletter and Hardy School website into operation.
And to the entire administrative team, support staff, teachers, and volunteers, thanks for your tireless efforts to help our students grow in knowledge and civic responsibility.

I want to thank the members of the PTA for allowing me to serve as PTA President, and thank all our school administrators, teachers, parents, and students for the wonderful work they do to make Hardy a great place to learn.
Our PTA leadership has done incredible work over the last year, building an institutional and financial framework that will allow us to continue to grow and help Hardy become even better. The key element of a strong PTA is parent involvement, and I hope that over the next year all of you will join the PTA and make time to volunteer -- even half an hour a month can make a big difference. We want to be inclusive, and we want to make sure that we hear everyone's ideas to make our PTA stronger. The PTA leadership will be meeting over the summer to map out plans for the 2012-2013 school year, and I want to invite everyone who is interested to attend these meetings. First: this email newsletter is the primary way the PTA communicates with parents. If you know of a current or incoming Hardy parents who does not get the newsletter, please make sure they sign up by sending us an email at HardyMiddleSchoolPTA@gmail.com.
Second: we ask that you please take 30 seconds and sign up your Safeway card with eScrip to benefit the Hardy PTA. It's easy, and it costs you nothing.
All you have to do is go online to eScrip.com and register your Safeway card. After that, every time you shop at Safeway, a small portion of your bill will be donated to the Hardy PTA.
It's easy to do and there is no cost to you. Here's how to sign up:
