Spring 2012 Management Skills Certification Seminar
brought to you by the Tyler Small Business Development Center at TJC's West Campus
Whether you are starting a small business or expanding an existing business, we have the professionals that you need to meet.
Each session is instructed by local professionals in specified fields pertinent to starting or operating a business. Empower yourself with the latest accounting & tax, corporate laws, business planning, business financing, marketing trends and more. Meet with local attorneys, CPAs, bankers, advertising consultants, and other business professionals. These sessions meet on Thursday evenings 6:00-8:30 p.m. in room 134 in the Tyler Junior College West Campus Building (RTDC). No outside reading or tests

Your most important factor to success is in the planning stage. The instructor for these sessions is Robert P. Lewis, MBA, Training Coordinator for the Tyler Small Business Development Center. Mr. Lewis holds a BBA (Accounting) and Master of  Business Administration Degrees from The University of Texas at Tyler.  He has over 45 years experience in Retail and Manufacturing.

You need to know your rights as well as the rights of your customers. This session is instructed by Mr. Richard Lottmann, Attorney, Allan-Lottmann, P.C..  Mr. Lottmann Graduated Suma Cum Laude from Texas A & M Univesity; University of Illinois-Economics; Juris Doctor, Southern Methodist University.
Financing a Business  - 4/12/12 Gay Smith 
Is a loan the answer? Should you use your retirement? How does a bank perceive you in terms of a risk? This session is instructed by Mrs. Gay Smith, Location President, Austin Bank.  Mrs. Smith holds a B.B.A from The University of Texas at Tyler and is a graduate of The Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.

This session, entitled "Form follows Function" is presented by Deborah Cooper, president of Mona Lisa West Agency, Inc. Mrs. Cooper holds a B.S.Degree in Commercial Art from Lamar University and over twenty years experience in the creative services industry. Mona Lisa West Agency, Inc. is a WBE, HUB/Woman-Owned business in the State of Texas and Constant Contact Solutions Provider/Expert Trainer with AIGA memberships on staff.
Michael Stevens CPAAccounting & Taxes - 5/10/12  
Business owners are responsible for understanding their company's accounting and tax reporting requirements.  This session is conducted by Mr. Michael Stevens, CPA/ABV/CFF, CFE.  Mr. Stevens is a practicing accountant with Gollob, Morgan, Peddy & Co., P.C. and holds a B.B.A from The University of Texas at Tyler (Summa Cum Laude).
