Sweet Mom and daughter, praying for LIFE!

Last Thursday was one of the most amazing days I've ever had at the Sidewalk, so in case you missed it, I'm including it once again~  Praise the Lord!  THREE couples changed their mind and those are just the ones that we know about!  There were several women who left the clinic, but did not talk with us, so the number of lives saved may be even higher.

Here are a few highlights.  A young father drove out of the clinic early Thursday morning, with a baby in the backseat, leaving the mother of his children inside the clinic for an abortion.  He pulled up along side us and we were able to give him information about all the helpful resources in our area. He said, "I don't want her to have the abortion... I've tried and tried to talk her out of it, but nothing seems to work."  We gave him all the information about fetal development, the Precious Feet pin that symbolizes a baby's feet at 10 weeks of pregnancy, a list of life-supporting resources that will help his family, etc.  He said he would "try one more time to talk with her", as he made a U-Turn and pulled back into the parking lot.  A short time later, he exited again and sadly said he wasn't able to change her mind, but he asked us to please pray for "Leanne", in hopes that she might choose LIFE. So we all started praying for "Leanne" and her baby!  There were people from Adventure Christian Church, St. Mel's, St. Rose of Sacramento, St. Joseph's of Elk Grove, Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, St. Maria Goretti, St. Joseph's Lincoln, St. Joseph Marello, St. Stephen's, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, St. Boniface, Presentation Parish, St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and many more, all praying along the Sidewalk!  Time passed by, we spoke with several other couples and then I saw the Dad return and within just a few minutes later, MOM, Dad, and baby in the backseat all exited, rolled down their window and said to us, "We're keeping our baby!  She changed her mind, because all you guys were praying!"  Mom "Leanne" in the front passenger seat was smiling and holding the Precious Feet pin and information, with a big smile!  I gave them my name and phone number, telling them that we would be overjoyed to host a Baby Shower for them, so please call us!  They were sooo happy!

Another couple left the clinic, without saying anything to us gathered in prayer right at the entrance, which often happens, so typically we never know if they changed their mind or not, but this couple later stopped down the road a ways and spoke with one of the participants from Adventure Christian Church named Steve.  The couple had changed their mind, but Dad was still very distressed.  They already had two little ones and he didn't think they could afford to have another baby right now, but Mom had changed their mind NOT to have the abortion, so there were many mixed emotions being exchanged between the couple.  Steve, the 40 Days participant whom they happened to pull up alongside, was able to share with the couple that he was #13 of thirteen children and that he knew poverty, but somehow God had always provided just enough for his family and now they are all grown, with children of their own and leading successful lives, so he encouraged the young couple to have Hope and Faith, not to despair over the challenges of adding another baby to their family, for somehow through God's grace and provision, everything will work out!

A third couple left the clinic, rolled down their window to speak with us as the large football-player-built Dad said very loudly, happily, joyfully, and proudly, "We changed our mind, we're keeping our baby!  Thank you guys for being here!"  We all cried, hugged the couple, and shared our joy with them, as the clinic escorts stood nearby and looked on... with frowns all around.  If they were really pro-"choice", wouldn't they also celebrate this woman's right to CHOOSE LIFE and the baby's life which was spared?  Sadly, no.  At these abortion businesses, only ONE choice is allowed.  For every women (at least three today that we know about) who changes her mind, the abortion business loses between $300 and $2,000 dollars each time, depending on how far along the pregnancy is/was and how much pain relief the mother is able to afford. Therefore, the escorts are highly motivated to rudely interrupt any conversation we may be having with a young woman there at the Sidewalk. They will stop at nothing.  Yet, the power of a peaceful, prayerful presence was amazing today and every day!  Thanks and praise be to God for allowing us to witness His grace, mercy, and miracles!  Thank you also to the many, many people who were there that day!  Let us fill the Sidewalk at 1750 Wright Street with hundreds of people each day of the remaining 16 days of our Sacramento 40 Days for Life!

We are now  making plans for our 2011 Motorcade for LIFE on Good Friday, April 22nd, when we will pray at each of the five main abortion businesses in our community.  We are especially looking for a group of pro-life Motorcyclists to lead the Motorcade, as Bikers for Life!  Please contact me if you know of people who can bring their motorcycles on April 22nd, where we will start at 8:00 am in Roseville and pray briefly at each abortion business, finishing at 1750 Wright Street for Stations of the Cross at 12:00 noon through 3:00 pm in remembrance of our Lord's death on the Cross.   Call wynette at 916-955-1577 if you know of motorcyclists who can join us! See additional details below in the "Events" section!  Please mark your calendars now for April 22nd, for this very solemn and reverent public witness to the Sanctity of Human Life!
