How Big Are You?
Grade Range: 1-4

In this Dinosaur Train game, kids try to estimate the length of various dinosaurs using modern animals as non-standard units of measurement. It shows that dinosaurs were different sizes and had different names, that large objects can be measured with non-standard objects, that a hypothesis can be tested by measuring, and that measuring with non-standard objects requires counting.

Angles are classified as either acute, obtuse, straight or right. The measure of the degree of the angle determines the classification type.

Students will understand the nature and purpose of public policy in a democratic society. They will apply this knowledge in their creation of a public policy on the topic of electric cars and develop a plan to implement this policy.

Out on a Limb  
Grade Range: K-2

 

Learn and practice Spanish, including vocabulary for clothes and landscape features, with the Oh Noah! "Out on a Limb" webisode, related games, and lesson plan. In the webisode, Coco wants an apple ("manzana"), but Noah thinks she wants a bird, so he builds his own wings and takes flight over the neighborhood. Students can learn, build upon, and apply the Spanish vocabulary by playing the interactive games. In the "A Bird's Eye View of My Neighborhood" lesson plan, students will become map-makers as they map their neighborhoods and label their map legend using Spanish words.
