The Story of Pocahontas
Grade Range: 5-8
In this blended lesson supporting literacy skills, students learn that there are multiple versions of the story of Pocahontas and John Smith. Students develop their literacy skills as they explore a social studies focus on the two different versions of this story that Smith wrote, and what historians believe really happened when Smith met Pocahontas. During this process, they read informational text, learn and practice vocabulary words, and explore content through videos and interactive activities.

Out on a Limb
Grade Range: K-2
Learn and practice Spanish, including vocabulary for clothes and landscape features, with the Oh Noah! "Out on a Limb" webisode, related games, and lesson plan. In the webisode, Coco wants an apple ("manzana"), but Noah thinks she wants a bird, so he builds his own wings and takes flight over the neighborhood. Students can learn, build upon, and apply the Spanish vocabulary by playing the interactive games. In the "A Bird's Eye View of My Neighborhood" lesson plan, students will become map-makers as they map their neighborhoods and label their map legend using Spanish words.
