LS MUSIC AND ART
Music

We have lots of wonderful news from our Lower School Arts, and our Kindergarteners through 5th graders have been busily creating and making connections in Art and Music. We began the year in Music talking about Excellence and how the goal is to have Excellent Expectations and set Excellent Examples both in and out of the classroom.

We moved through instrument basics and classroom transitions and right in to the National Anthem Project where all students in American schools learn, analyze, and perform "The Star Spangled Banner."

This year I have recorded all 4th and 5th grade classes, some 3rd grade classes, and our Lower School Chorus singing The National Anthem and will send the top 3 class recordings to Washington, D.C. as part of the project. Our students will be among the tens of thousands of American singers who are hoping to get an invitation to sing at the White House throughout the year, and although competition is tough we have some very talented young singers at PLP!

Art
