The latest news from CNH Architects in Apple Valley, Minnesota
CNH staff and family members assembled for an action packed night of volunteering at the Feed My Starving Children South Metro food packing event in Apple Valley, where about 3,000 volunteers in all packed more than 3 million meals for hungry children.

Equipped with extensive training elements and emergency command center capabilities, Lino Lakes Fire Station 2 is no typical firehouse.

"We relied on CNH pretty significantly for incorporating some firefighter training elements into our new facility," said Public Safety Director John Swenson.  Many police officers are cross-trained to perform firefighting duties.

The director said the station came together as planned, with quality materials and craftsmanship.  Please view the video.

Interesting elements, Eagan facility

Setting the stage and honoring the fallen, the newest fire station in Eagan, No. 1, will open soon.

The station employs a unique new element in the lighting system outside of the apparatus bay doors, six-foot tall vertical displays of red lights that create “thin red lines,” a traditional firefighter memorial symbol. They're lit from dusk until dawn.  T

More than a year in the making, the structure incorporates an iconic clock tower that is highly visible at a prominent intersection, explains Architect Brooke Jacobson.  Station No. 1 uses building materials that are similar to the larger Eagan Fire Safety Center, creating a consistent fire station image throughout the city.

In addition to the vertical red lights, the Fire Department’s Maltese cross will be lit in red at night, as well as the windows at the top of the clock tower.

Learning more about precast walls

The Wells Concrete plant in Rosemount hosted a group from CNH Architects for an up close and personal look at precast concrete production.

Architectural staff viewed precast wall panel mockups outside the facility, before stepping inside to see the long concrete beds and crane operation.  Wells was making Double T Beams, and the group learned about the concrete pouring process and cutting functions.

Wells concrete offers educational tours on its website.

Client feedback:
