Hyde Park Farmer's Market Begins May 17-Oct 2015!
The Spicy Olive Hyde Park will begin Farmer's Market Hours on Sunday May 17, 2015. We will be open from 9:30 am-3:00 pm every Sunday! We are looking forward to seeing everyone outside & in the store! Get ready for some great recipes to sample from The Spicy Olive!

  The Spicy Olive, West Chester and Hyde Park, will be closed on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 in observance of Independence Day!
    The big news for July is that the Austin Landing store will open soon. Look for an email announcing the Grand Opening. All three Spicy Olive stores will celebrate the opening with food samples and 10% off our olive oils and vinegars. This is tentatively scheduled for July 18th, 2015. More details to come...
 

Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Fraudulent Olive Oil Manufacturers

A U.S. class action lawsuit against popular brands of olive oil alleges the products are neither "made in Italy" nor "extra virgin" as the labels say.

A California federal judge has approved two class actions lawsuits against the makers of Filippo Berio brand olive oil, sold through Safeway, and against the importers of Bertolli and Carapelli olive oils. ... click here to read more.

 A Third Location Coming for The Spicy Olive!
  The Opening of The Spicy Olive @ Austin Landing is soon! The walls are painted and the floor is tiled. The cabinets have been installed. We are awaiting final approvals and the arrival of our great olive oils and balsamic vinegars! The West Chester and Hyde Park Spicy Olive's will celebrate along with the new store. We will have food samples and discounts that day. More details  are to come as we firm up the opening date! Some of our customers are already excited about the news! July Recipes Featuring the Flavors of the Month:


The Spicy Olive's Coconut Lime Fruit Salad
Ingredients
Top your favorite fruit salad with a dressing of Coconut white balsamic and Persian Lime olive oil. Use 50/50 proportions and drizzle over fruit salad. It gives any fruit salad a delicious tropical twist!

Coconut Lime Shrimp




The Spicy Olive's Coconut Lime Shrimp

1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
2 Tbsp. The Spicy Olive's Persian Lime olive oil
2 Tbsp. The Spicy Olive's Coconut white balsamic vinegar
Place Persian Lime olive oil in a saute pan and put over medium high heat. Add shrimp and saute for 2-3 minutes until shrimp begin to curl and turn pink. Add Coconut white balsamic vinegar and toss to coat. Serve over rice. Enjoy!



Coconut Lime Chicken with a Thai Twist

2 tbsp. The Spicy Olive's Persian Lime Olive Oil

1 tbsp. The Spicy Olive's Honey Ginger White Balsamic Vinegar
1 tbsp. The Spicy Olive's Coconut White Balsamic Vinegar
1 can (13.5 oz.) coconut milk (unsweetened)
1 whole chicken cut into 10 pieces (3-4 lbs.)

Serve with Thai garnishes: chopped peanuts, chopped cilantro, cooked jasmine rice, shredded carrot, lime wedges and a drizzle of The Spicy Olive's Lemongrass Mint White Balsamic Vinegar.

In a large glass bowl, combine first four ingredients. Submerge chicken pieces, cover and allow to marinate overnight. Grill chicken on a hot grill until thermometer reads 165 degrees. Serve with your choice of Thai twists!

Chef David Cook returns to The Spicy Olive, West Chester,  Ohio on Wednesday Sept. 10, 2015 6:60-8:30pm.  The menu includes Sauteed Shrimp, panzanella, asparagus, peas, Piquillio puree with Sicilian Lemon white balsamic, Field greens with honey roasted pear, mozzarella with Grapefruit white balsamic vinaigrette, Sous Vide Chicken breast marinated with Mandarin olive oil, Sauteed Broccolini drizzled with Baklouti Green chili oil and Roasted Yukon Gold potatoes. The cost for this class is $45.00 and includes wine pairings with the food served and recipes. Please call The Spicy Olive at 513-847-4397 to make a reservation.

Chef David Cook will lead a class at The Spicy Olive @ Austin Landing on Sept. 16, 2015 6:30-8:30 pm. The menu for this class includes Chilled Corn Soup with White Truffle Creme and Wild Mushroom and Sage Croutons, Soba Buckwheat Noodles with Sauteed Shrimp with Honey Ginger white balsamic and Toasted Sesame oil and Pork Tenderloin with Madras Curry over a Carrot salad with Persian Lime olive oil. The cost of this class is $45.00 and includes tasting of foods, wine pairing and recipes.
