Back to the Beginning: Important New Trends in Early Litigation Tactics

Thursday, June 7, 2012, 6 pm
Arnold & Porter LLP, 399 Park Avenue, 34th Floor

The litigation landscape has changed in recent years due to certain

high profile, and other precedent-setting, court decisions and
legislation. Slowly but definitively, new trends with wide-reaching
influence have emerged: removals before the forum defendant is served, motions under Twombly and Iqbal  to dismiss poorly drafted complaints, and pleadings changes as required by the Class Action Fairness Act.  In this roundtable discussion, we will give an overview of the nuances every litigator should understand.

Please join our panel of professionals as they bring their different
perspectives and varied experience to an exciting discussion on the
evolution of today's courtroom procedures.

Panelists:
Connie Matteo, Senior Corporate Counsel - Litigation, Pfizer Inc.
Kamran Khan, Assistant General Counsel, Altria
Anand Agneshwar, Partner, Arnold & Porter LLP
