Dear Parents,
The following is all of the information that you will need for all of the events leading up to your child's First Communion in 2017.
As we mentioned at the Parent Meeting in the spring, we are having First Communion on one day only--May 6, 2017.
Hopefully sending this information out early will allow you to schedule these dates and avoid any conflicts.
Practices will be held before First Communion. That information will be sent out at a later date.

FIRST PENANCE
Tuesday, February 28, 2017
First Penance is being held on Wednesday, February 28, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. in the upper church. Each child must be accompanied by a parent. Please remain in the church until your child has received the Sacrament of Penance. As soon as they do, he/she is free to leave.

MORNING WITH JESUS
Saturday, March 4, 2017
Morning With Jesus is being held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the school. Children are to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and report to the room that they have been assigned to (assignments will be given out at a later date). Please send your child with a zip-lock bag (name on the bag) containing crayons, pencil, and a water bottle. We can no longer have them bring a snack, as we have so many of our friends with allergies. Please have them eat a good breakfast before they come. Students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.
Many volunteers are needed for this morning. If you are available to be a classroom monitor (no teaching is involved), please contact me at [email protected].

Please have your child in the lower church one-half hour before the First Communion begins.

REQUIRED DRESS FOR
FIRST COMMUNION
GIRLS: white dress, white veil or wreath of flowers (optional), no sneakers, no gloves
BOYS: white pants, white shirt, white ties, white jacket (not mandatory but if they do wear a jacket it must be white), no sneakers

PHOTOGRAPHY AT FIRST COMMUNION
Out of respect for the dignity and holiness of this Liturgy, no photography, or videography is allowed until after Mass. Please respect the parish's desire to celebrate this sacrament without distraction and with everyone participating fully in prayer.
A professional photographer will be at each of the First Communions to take a picture of your child as he/she receives Jesus for the first time. This picture is a gift from the parish, therefore, is free of charge. If you would like additional pictures, you will communicate directly with the photographer.
