Chamber Re-Organizes and Expands Staff

The Board of Directors recently completed an updated Strategic Plan.  To effectively facilitate all components of our strategy, we did a simultaneous staff reorganization.

We have hired an Operations Director, Christine Langenfeld, who will be responsible for the day-to-day internal operation and administration of the office.  She joins Kaitlin Brunner, our Communications Director as part of the management team.

Penny LaPlaca will continue to oversee our Insurance Department, ably assisted by Olivia Dann.  Olivia’s responsibilities will be expanded to include special events and member services administration.

We are currently searching for a Member Services Manager.  This position has been re-defined and requires an individual with strategic thinking and a creative and collaborative persona.

Additionally, we hope to hire a part-time Administrative Assistant that has data entry skills.  We are a very busy office with a dedicated staff.  If you know anyone that may be interested in joining our team, have them send their resume to [email protected].

Ask the Expert
Q: What is a deductible?
A: Similar to a deductible for auto or homeowners insurance, a health plan deductible is the amount you are required to pay before most of your benefits begin.  For example, with a $1,000 deductible, you pay the first $1,000 of covered health care services yourself.  After you reach your deductible amount, you usually pay only a copayment or coinurance for covered services. Most preventive services are not subject to the deductible and are available at a $0 cost.

In recent years, deductible plans have become significantly more popular.  However, many people are still unfamiliar with how deductibles work because they're accustomed to paying fixed copayments for services.  To view the answers to common deductible-related questions, click here.
