Youth-age church members have historical helped with Christmas Food Boxes. Youth have particularly helped on Saturday morning with putting boxes together and unloading food from trucks to King Hall. Unloading food requires heavy lifting. Students have also helped with giving boxes away on Monday morning and praying with families who receive the boxes. Giving boxes away also requires heavy lifting as well. There is something to do for everyone. Please encourage your student to serve the church and community.

This is a Sr High service opportunity. Please let me know if your student is interested. sonnyw@fpcrome.org

SUNDAY SCHOOL

12/3: Subject- Service
Questions: By being a sacrificial servant, how does that change the way you use your free time? Who is responsible to serve at FPC? Who is your service rooted in?

We started a new Sunday School series this Sunday, October 8th. The title above may seem strange to you.  It may be strange because I think our natural inclination is to foster only happy and easy relationships. Once messiness arises, we go in a different direction seeking easy, new relationships. We believe the lie that avoiding conflict is the best option. But God commands us to respond differently to conflict. Conflict is good! Conflict is unavoidable in a healthy, Biblical relationship. It is good because by handling conflict in a gospel manner, conflict gives us the opportunity to be more like Christ. To become more like Christ is a our goal therefore remaining steadfast in our relationships is good.
