Join Women's Ministry on Saturday, April 22nd, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. in Stewart Hall for a brunch and presentation.
Award winning author Lynn Austin will lead a discussion on Finding your Passion followed by a Q&A on her latest book, Waves of Mercy.
Lynn will have books available and will sign copies.  Offerings will be accepted to offset the cost of brunch.

Holy Week Services
Maundy Thursday
April 13, 7:00 p.m. Worship
Gather to hear the heart-rending hymns and celebrate the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples.  Following communion, worshippers may choose to have their feet washed as Jesus did for his disciples, pray with one of our elders, light a candle for someone you are praying for, or simply return to their pews for silent prayer. Childcare is provided.
Good Friday
April 14, 7:00 p.m. Worship
We will remember Jesus' death on the Cross through the Tenebrae Service of Darkness, with anthems and hymns, scripture readings and a brief reflection from Pastors Dave and Kyle. Worship will be led by a string quartet. Childcare provided.
Adult Education

Can (College Age Network)
Hannah Circle will be sending letters and gift cards to all of the college kids on Wednesday, April 19.  If you would like to donate $5.00 gift cards to send to our First Pres college kids (or cash for us to purchase the cards), please drop your donations in the office by April 19.  Thank you! 
Senior Dessert
The Senior Dessert on Tuesday, April 25th will feature Marla Jedlicka, Executive Director of The Wise Old Owl Sanctuary.  The sanctuary houses owls that were once wild, injured, and nursed back to health. 
The Deacons invite all seniors to meet owls that are not able to be released back to their natural habitat. Join us for desserts and fellowship at 1:00 p.m.   RSVP to Janet or Lisa in the church office or 630-668-5147.
FPC Book Club
Waves Of Mercy by Lynn Austin is our book for April. A story of two very different women, Genesee de Jong, an immigrant from the Netherlands fifty years ago, and Anna Nicholson, a 23 year old banker with a broken engagement. 
Join us on Thursday, April 20, 7:00 p.m. in the Parish House living room to discuss this great book. ~Note new date. Lynn Austin will be speaking at the PW breakfast on Saturday, April 22.
Prescription for Life
This will be the 8th year that our church has supported the Older Adults program at Outreach Community Center through the collection of your loose change. 

On April 23 we will be handing out specially marked pill bottles for you and your family to fill with your spare change (or bills, or checks).  Your generous donations will help make a huge difference in the life of an isolated older adult living in our area. Services include Friendly Visiting, the Mood and Memory Clinic, social activities, field trips, weekly shopping trips and the popular monthly Lunch and Learn event.  So start saving your change now.

Jesus is Calling You to Tea at K'Tizo
Join us for a deep breath of peace and calm with a Jesus Calling devotion at 9:30 a.m. Come when you can, don't stress when you can't. 4th Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. for 30 minutes.

Dress a Girl Around the World
Please join Women's Ministry on Friday, May 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Stewart Hall 104--107 for another round of making dresses for Dress-a-Girl-Around-the-World. We also need help in packaging the completed dresses in preparation for shipping.

Registration for Vacation Bible School has begun!

VBS Service Squad
We are looking for Middle Schoolers entering 6th-8th grade to join us for a week of mission projects from Monday, June 12-Friday June 16 9:00-11:30 a.m. Cost is $30.00. Each morning begins with journaling and a devotion, and then off on a mission project; sorting food at the Humanitarian Service Project, making lunches for PADS, visiting our FPC seniors, working out in the back yard of Willow brook Wildlife Haven, recycling at SCARCE are some of the projects we have done.

Parent chaperones are welcome and needed. Mark your calendars. Forms can be found in the church office, ONLINE at the church website and will be coming in the mail.

WF High School News
Good Friday
April 14 at 4:30pm-Watch The Passion of the Christ and attend the Good Friday service together. Meet on the 3rd floor, bring a snack to share and we'll eat some pizza. Viewing this movie on Good Friday, followed by the worship service, is a really meaningful way to understand the pain of Holy Week and the joy of Easter. If you're under 17, bring a note from your folks that it's ok to watch an R rated movie!

Eighth Grade Welcome Night at WF
April 23, 6-8:15 p.m.
The High School Youth of WF would like to invite all 8th grade students to join us at youth group on April 23rd! Come see what you have to look forward to when you get to high school! We will have all kinds of fun things planned especially for YOU! It's a great time to meet your confirmation sponsor, too! After this night, 8th graders are welcome to come each Wednesday night for Girls' and Guys' small groups, and WF youth group each Sunday night! Join us!

Egg Hunt in the Courtyard
85 children came together on Saturday to celebrate Easter with crafts, games, the Easter story and of course an egg hunt!

Easter Lilies
On Palm Sunday our middle school youth delivered Easter Lilies to our FPC neighbors.
