November Worship Theme
Surrender
As UUs, how do we find spiritual connection through Surrender?
Surrender is not a spiritual concept that is familiar to us as Unitarian Universalists. In fact, I venture to say that not only are we unfamiliar with it, but more often than not, it makes us uncomfortable. We bristle at the mere thought of it.

Most of us do not embrace the concept of “let go, and let God.” We either consider that God needs our help, or that our purpose is to do the work that God would do, if she were here. To read more, click here .

A Response to the Mass Shooting in Texas
by Rev. Tina Simson
Since last Sunday’s mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs Texas, I have been trying to find words to express my grief that, in a place of love, connection and sanctuary, such tragedy occurs again. I have not found the words.

I also search for words to express my outrage that this carnage has become an acceptable byproduct of a powerful lobby that distorts the inherent values of democracy. I have not found the words for that either.

As your minister, I struggle to find words of comfort to offer to you. To read more, please click here .
