Update From Roof Communication Team
The  roof replacement project was to begin this week. Weather this past June set-back our contractor (and a lot of others) on their projects, so they're finishing those now and will begin ours soon, sometime after Monday,  August 21. The repairs done this spring are holding very well, even with some fierce storms pummeling the roof with floods of water (the same storms that have delayed our contractor). The date for beginning the project will be published when it has been determined.  Roof Communication Team: Sue Ames, Tim Farnum, Ken Buckle.

The Pastoral Care Team Needs Your Help!
Are you a good listener? Do you have a caring heart? Do you have a few hours each month to help another church member through a rough spot? If so, please consider joining our Pastoral Care Team. This group of dedicated individuals support the Pastoral Care ministry of our church by visiting and supporting other members. Through our compassion we serve needs greater than our own. Thank You for Your Generosity!
Two weekends a month our plate collections go to a community organization outside our church. On the other weekends, the collection goes directly to support our church budget. This fiscal church year, we have already donated $1,658 back to our greater community (excluding the Greater Good fund).  On July 2, $399 was collected for our church.  On July 9, $291.35 was collected for Rochester Emergency Action Committee for the Homeless (REACH). On July 16, $291 was collected for our church. On July 23, $1,367.11 was collected for League of Women Voters-Rochester Metro Area. On July 30, $234.25 was collected our church.
Food Cupboard Suggestion
The Brighton Food Cupboard needs baby wipes and diapers, size 5 and 6, as well as Boost and Ensure supplemental nutrition drinks.  Let's bring these items to church this week. Food donations are always welcome.  For further information, email Alison Wilder  or call 585-342-2459. 
Aging Gratefully and Connections As We Age
Aging Gratefully is a discussion group open to anyone aged 60 and above that meets monthly between to discuss topics related to aging. The next meeting is Thursday, August 10, 1:30-3:00pm and the topic is "Establishing and Maintaining Connections As We Age."
Central New York Cluster Revival Gathering
The Central New York Cluster of UU churches will hold a gathering at May Memorial UU Society in Syracuse, NY on August 12, 10:00am-4:00pm. This will be a time to see friends, network around important issues of our faith, be inspired to meet the challenges ahead, and have fun! Bring a dish to pass for the potluck picnic, and outdoor games. Blood Drive Coming in August
A blood drive will be held in the Williams Gallery on August 29, 1:00-6:00pm. Look for posters around the church. There will be $5 Target e-gift card given to donors. Go to  to schedule an appointment or contact Suzy Farrell at  or 585-747-6379 .

Lost and Found
It's time again to empty our Lost-and-Found. If you think you left something behind, check the Lost-and-Found in the Workroom. It will be emptied, and the contents donated, at the end of August.
